Philadelphia 76ers guard De'Anthony Melton (back) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Nets. He's only appeared in seven games since the beginning of 2024 because of a back injury. However, despite playing in Philly's previous two contests, the 25-year-old has logged just over 20 minutes combined. The Sixers need him healthy for the postseason, so Melton might get the afternoon off. More names may be added to the injury report heading into this contest. But Kyle Lowry and Cameron Payne are currently in line for extra work if Melton isn't on the floor for the regular-season finale.
Philadelphia 76ers guard De'Anthony Melton (back) will return to action on Tuesday against Detroit. He's available again after missing 21 contests with a back problem. Melton makes his comeback at a good time, as the 76ers will be without Tyrese Maxey (hip) and Kyle Lowry (knee) on Tuesday. However, due to his long absence, it's unlikely Melton will get a large workload in his first game back in the lineup. Cameron Payne and Kelly Oubre Jr. make up Philadelphia's starting backcourt on Tuesday.
Philadelphia 76ers guard De'Anthony Melton (back) will miss a 19th consecutive contest on Thursday against Miami. He continues to deal with a lumbar spine injury and hasn't played since Feb. 27. Melton's absence has left Philadelphia without a versatile guard who can impact games in many ways. There's no set timeline for Melton's return, but 76ers head coach Nick Nurse recently said that the team is hopeful of getting Melton and Robert Covington (knee, illness) back at some point before the regular season ends. Even if he's available again, Melton might struggle to get playing time, as Philadelphia has added Kyle Lowry, Cameron Payne, and Buddy Hield to the backcourt during his absence.
Philadelphia 76ers guard De'Anthony Melton (back) will be re-evaluated in two weeks. The 25-year-old has averaged a career-high 11.5 points this season. But considering the nature of his injury, there's a chance he may not play again during the 2023-24 campaign. Additionally, the 76ers' roster looks slightly different, so Melton could have a tough time being as productive as he was before he went down with the injury. With this in mind, fantasy managers can drop him from their rosters.
Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse says guard De'Anthony Melton (back) is out for now, and he isn't sure for how long. Melton left Tuesday's loss to the Boston Celtics with back spasms, perhaps re-aggravating the lumbar spine stress response that plagued him for nearly two months between early January and late February. Fantasy managers should view the 25-year-old lockdown defender as out indefinitely, and while he's posting top-75 numbers in nine-category leagues with 11.5 points, 3.1 assists, 2.1 three-pointers, and 1.6 steals per game in 2023-24, Melton is a drop candidate for those who can't afford to stash him. The Sixers will continue to heavily rely on All-Star Tyrese Maxey in their backcourt, with the recently-acquired Kyle Lowry being worth watching as an option to occupy Melton's role for the time being in Philly.
