Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is going to be very busy trying to carry the team's offense into the playoffs while they wait for Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) to return. That was evident during their two-point win over the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night. Edwards finished the game with 44 points on 18-for-35 shooting while adding six rebounds, three assists, two steals, two blocks, and zero turnovers. The biggest play of the night was a game-saving block as time ran out. Edwards is going to be at an all-time fantasy value high through this last part of the regular season, but fantasy managers may want to temper expectations with field goal percentages if he's going to be shooting this much.
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (shoulder) is still working with pads but has progressed to "light contact." Randle is not close to returning to the floor for the Knicks as he continues to recover from a dislocated right shoulder, so fantasy managers should not be relying on the All-Star forward for the fantasy playoffs. Josh Hart is on the path to being a league-winning fantasy asset, piling up 12.9 points, 10.8 boards, 5.9 assists, 1.6 treys, and 1.1 steals in 40.6 minutes per game through his last 16 showings. Especially in points leagues due to his dodgy free-throw shooting, Hart should be treated as a top-50 option for however long Randle stays off the court.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (ankle) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. This doesn't come as a surprise after Edwards was forced to exit early on Friday. Nickeil Alexander-Walker will likely be given the starting nod if Edwards isn't able to suit up on Sunday. He'd be worth a look as a streaming option if given an expanded role. Fantasy managers will have to check back before tip-off on Sunday.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (personal) exited Friday's overtime loss to the Sacramento Kings. He did not return and finished with 11 points in 19 minutes. The 22-year-old was questionable heading into this contest because of an ankle injury, which he picked up on Tuesday night against the San Antonio Spurs. Fortunately, Edwards didn't suffer another injury. Instead, he exited due to the birth of his child. That said, Minnesota plays again on Sunday versus the visiting Los Angeles Clippers. For now, fantasy managers should consider Edwards questionable heading into that one, although there should be further updates on Saturday. If he doesn't suit up, Nickeil Alexander-Walker would presumably fill the void in the lineup.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (ankle) will play on Friday night against the Kings. The 22-year-old tweaked his ankle in Tuesday's win over the Spurs and popped up on the injury report for Wednesday's matchup with Memphis. But he was cleared to suit up for that one and finished with a game-high 34 points in 40 minutes of work. As a result, fantasy managers had expected to have Edwards in the lineup, although things are now official. Keep him starting.
