Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson (ankle) was already listed as doubtful, so he wasn't expected to play against the Portland Trail Blazers in the first place. Now, it's official and Johnson will not suit up on Wednesday night. Since the team is already missing Trae Young (finger) and Saddiq Bey (knee), losing Johnson is going to take an even bigger chunk out of their offensive firepower. De'Andre Hunter will probably move into the starting five along with Vit Krejci and Bogdan Bogdanovic. Hunter and Bogdanovic would serve as the better streaming options, but Krejci could provide some stats given the added opportunities if needed.
Atlanta Hawks guard/forward Bogdan Bogdanovic (illness) is good to go on Wednesday night against Portland. He'd been listed as probable because of an illness, although it didn't appear severe enough to keep him off the floor. With Atlanta down Jalen Johnson (ankle), Onyeka Okongwu (toe), and Trae Young (finger), Bogdanovic has a chance to smash fantasy expectations.
Atlanta Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanovic (illness) is probable for Wednesday's meeting with Portland. The veteran sharpshooter was a late addition to the injury report because of an illness. While he should be good to go, there's still a small chance he'll get downgraded heading into the contest. The Hawks desperately need him, considering they won't have Trae Young (finger), Saddiq Bey (knee), and Onyeka Okongwu (toe). Jalen Johnson (ankle) is also on track to miss his third consecutive game. If Bogdanovic is available, he's a lock for any fantasy lineup. However, if he's not on the floor, De'Andre Hunter and Clint Capela could see significantly more scoring opportunities behind Dejounte Murray.
Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson (ankle) is doubtful ahead of Wednesday's game in Portland. The 2021 No. 20 overall pick has improved significantly from last season, averaging 15.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 48 games during the 2023-24 campaign. Johnson has missed the last two games because of a sprained right ankle, and although he's not expected to play, the designation at least suggests he's moving in a favorable direction. The Hawks lost Saddiq Bey (knee) for the remainder of the year, so fantasy managers should expect more production from Bogdan Bogdanovic and De'Andre Hunter behind Dejounte Murray versus the Trail Blazers if Johnson ultimately gets ruled out.
Atlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu (toe) has ditched the walking boot and will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days. He will miss a ninth consecutive game on Friday versus the Grizzlies, but it looks like Okongwu could be good to go this time next week. Bruno Fernando has stepped into Okongwu's role as the backup center and will have fantasy value for at least three more games. The big man from Angola recorded his second game of the season with double-digit rebounds on Wednesday versus Cleveland and has racked up six blocks over the last three games. His defense will certainly be needed again in Friday's touch matchup against Jaren Jackson Jr.
