Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (forearm) said that he broke his right forearm in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Green Bay Packers and currently has a brace on it. He said he'll be cleared soon and the injury won't hinder his offseason training at all. The 24-year-old didn't realize he had a significant injury in the loss to the Packers and finished out the game with three catches for 41 yards on four targets. Kmet has played in every single game so far in his four years in the NFL, and he finished last season with career-highs in catches (73) and receiving yards (719) while scoring six touchdowns in 17 games played. His fantasy outlook as a TE1 for the 2024 season will depend on what the Bears brass decides to do at the quarterback position. If they decide to move on from Justin Fields, Kmet will most likely be working with a rookie signal-caller.

The 24-year-old was active last week, too, but essentially occupied a decoy role, playing 18 percent of offensive snaps while failing to command a target. A similar scenario is unlikely this weekend. Instead, Kmet should have a full workload, putting him in the TE1 tier for fantasy purposes.

Kmet didn't practice on Wednesday, was limited on Thursday and managed to put in a full practice on Friday, so he's clearly on the right side of questionable. The 24-year-old was also questionable last week but was active and played a season-low 13 snaps in the Week 17 win over the Atlanta Falcons. It sounds as though he's healthier this week, which means he should see the field more often. Kmet could see plenty of targets, too, with receiver Darnell Mooney (concussion) already being ruled out. In the season opener against Green Bay, Kmet had five catches on seven targets for 44 yards. Consider him a risky low-end, touchdown-dependent TE1 in fantasy for the Bears' final game of the season at Lambeau Field.
