Mason Rudolph Looks Good In Preseason Win

Tennessee Titans quarterback Mason Rudolph had a solid showing in Saturday's preseason victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Rudolph, who agreed to a one-year deal with the Titans this offseason after spending the start of his career in Pittsburgh, threw for 125 yards and a touchdown off 10-for-17 passing. He added four carries for 15 yards. Rudolph appears to have a lock on the No. 2 spot on the depth chart ahead of Malik Willis. However, the signal-caller won't be relevant for fantasy managers during the 2024-25 campaign unless Will Levis loses his job as the starter. The Titans will close out the preseason with a trip to New Orleans versus the Saints.

Giants Sign Joshua Kelley

The New York Giants signed running back Joshua Kelley on Thursday. The move comes on the heels of rookie fifth-rounder Tyrone Tracy Jr. (ankle) suffering an ankle injury earlier this week. Kelley is a former fourth-round pick by the Los Angeles Chargers from the 2020 NFL Draft, producing 405 rushing yards and two touchdowns in 17 games during the 2023 season. The 26-year-old power back should have a decent chance of making the Giants' roster later this summer as a No. 3 or No. 4 option out of the backfield, and if he does, Kelley would be a candidate to vulture goal-line touches from lead back Devin Singletary and see some early-down work in New York this fall. This role likely wouldn't be enough for fantasy relevance, though.

Tyler Boyd's Foot Injury Expected To Keep Him Out A Few Days

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Tyler Boyd (bruised foot) is currently dealing with a bruised foot but is expected to miss only a few days, according to head coach Brian Callahan. Boyd, who joined the Titans this offseason, is projected to be the No. 3 receiver behind Calvin Ridley and DeAndre Hopkins. If he can return healthy, he remains a solid late-round pick in fantasy leagues. Boyd's connection with Callahan, his former offensive coordinator with the Bengals, is a positive factor for his performance. However, the injury situation in the Titans' receiving corps is concerning, with Hopkins (knee) expected to be out for four to six weeks. This situation dampens Will Levis's sleeper potential, who now has two top receivers sidelined. On a positive note, Ridley will likely see an increase in targets, making him a value pick at his current ADP.

Treylon Burks Cramps Up On Wednesday

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks was immediately pulled from training camp practice on Wednesday after suffering from cramps involving his calf/hamstring. Conditioning issues and injuries have plagued Burks in his first two NFL seasons. The former 18th overall pick in 2022 has been a bust for the Titans to this point, especially after catching only 16 passes for 221 yards and no touchdowns in his sophomore campaign in 11 games played. The 24-year-old has been running with the first-team offense this summer, though, mainly because of DeAndre Hopkins' knee injury. Burks' fantasy stock heading into 2024 took a huge hit when Tennessee added Calvin Ridley to the fold, but he could be worth a late-round flier in deeper fantasy leagues if Hopkins isn't ready to go for Week 1 in early September.

Tay Martin Leads 49ers In Receiving In Preseason Opener

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Tay Martin saw a good chunk of action in the team's 17-13 loss at the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night. Martin finished with a team-leading five receptions on seven targets for 58 yards. The 26-year-old went undrafted out of Oklahoma State in 2022 and has spent the past two years on San Francisco's practice squad. The 49ers' receiving picture is a little fuzzy, with trade rumors swirling around starter Brandon Aiyuk and an injury to rookie Ricky Pearsall. However, Martin is still competing with many other receivers for a roster spot. He'll likely not be fantasy-relevant this season.
