Rachaad White Likely To Remain Heavily Involved

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White continues to be the workhorse back in this offense. White has posted back-to-back games with over 70 rushing yards, which is nice to see. However, White hasn't seen much involvement in the passing game, which is hurting his fantasy value. He has also been held out of the end zone for three straight games. It won't get any easier for White in a divisional round matchup against the Detroit Lions this weekend. His high usage makes him an interesting DFS candidate, but the lack of pass-catching and scoring is a concern.

Chase Edmonds Picks Up Another DNP

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Chase Edmonds (toe) was unable to practice with the team on Thursday for the second straight day this week. Edmonds is now fully in jeopardy of missing the Divisional Round of the playoffs on Sunday in Detroit against the Lions. The 27-year-old will need to get back on the practice field to have a shot at suiting up. And even if Edmonds is active this weekend, he'll continue being the clear backup to starter Rachaad White in a Buccaneers offense that loves to air it out first and foremost. Edmonds' best fantasy day in 2023 was when he put up 8.1 half-PPR points in Week 17 against the New Orleans Saints. He did not suit up in the first meeting with the Lions in Week 6. If Edmonds cannot play on Sunday, rookie Sean Tucker would be elevated to the backup job.

Chris Godwin Returns To Practice Thursday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin (knee) returned to a limited practice session on Thursday after he was deemed a non-participant on Wednesday. Godwin was most likely just being rested in the first practice of the week on Wednesday, so he should be fully ready to go for Sunday's Divisional Round game against the Detroit Lions in a great matchup. The 27-year-old took a back seat to teammate Mike Evans over the majority of the 2023 regular season, but he stood out in Monday night's wild-card win over the Philadelphia Eagles, catching four of his five targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in the 32-9 rout. The Lions defense allowed the third-most half-PPR fantasy points to opposing receivers during the regular season, so Godwin is a solid DFS target at his current $6,300 DraftKings salary for this weekend's slate.

Baker Mayfield Practicing In Full

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield (ankle, ribs) was a full participant in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Mayfield tweaked his ankle in the Week 18 regular season finale but played in Monday night's wild-card win over the Philadelphia Eagles and had a great game, going 22-for-36 for 337 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. The tough 28-year-old signal-caller won't have any issues being ready to suit for the Divisional Round contest in Detroit against the Lions on Sunday, and he'll be an interesting low-cost DFS sleeper at the QB position for the second straight week in another friendly matchup in the dome in Detroit. In the game against the Lions way back in Week 6, Mayfield had only 206 passing yards with no touchdowns and an interception.

Chase Edmonds Picks Up DNP For Walkthrough

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Chase Edmonds (toe) was listed as a non-participant for Wednesday's walkthrough practice. We'll have a better idea of whether Edmonds' injury is serious enough to keep him out of the Divisional Round this Sunday against the Detroit Lions once the team releases their Thursday injury report. The 27-year-old had seven carries for 12 yards and caught one pass for eight yards in Monday night's wild-card win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Going into this week with an injury as the clear backup to Rachaad White in Tampa's backfield with a bad matchup upcoming against the Lions, Edmonds doesn't really have much DFS appeal for the Divisional Round. If he's unable to play this weekend, rookie Sean Tucker would work as White's backup against the Lions.
