Cincinnati Bengals running back Zack Moss had an underwhelming Week 2 showing versus the Chiefs. After finding the end zone in Week 1, the 26-year-old finished Sunday's contest by amassing 34 yards off 12 carries. With Tee Higgins (hamstring) sidelined, some believed Moss would have a more prominent role, especially as a pass-catcher. Yet, that didn't happen, with the 2020 No. 86 overall pick catching one pass for 13 yards. He still had more carries than Chase Brown, who had four touches for 31 yards. However, fantasy managers will still likely be nervous about Moss' potential in Week 3 against the Commanders. With that in mind, he still deserves at least flex consideration, although the topic can be revisited based on his performance after Monday night's showdown with Washington.

Many had assumed both men would split carries evenly this season. Although that may be the case eventually, Moss remains the preferred fantasy option out of the duo. Nonetheless, despite the challenging matchup on the horizon against the defending champs, Moss has earned his way into nearly all fantasy lineups for Week 2.

With that said, Moss should be a starting fantasy option in nearly all formats on Sunday, especially if Higgins or Chase are out. The same would be true for Brown, who would be in line for more snaps against the Patriots.

The Athletic's Paul Dehner Jr. writes that it's inevitable that Cincinnati Bengals running backs Chase Brown and Zack Moss will play a significant role in 2024, with their total touches ending up in a 50-50 split. However, it's unclear if the split will be situational with Moss handling third-down and two-minute situations, or if it will be more of a drive-by-drive breakdown. Head coach Zac Taylor isn't necessarily looking to fill situational roles; he's more concerned about disguising play-calling tendencies. In the end, the rotation between Brown and Moss will likely evolve throughout the year, but as of now, it sounds like both RBs will be doing a bit of everything. Brown is quicker and more elusive in space, while Moss is more of a banger between the tackles. Both figure to have their fantasy value capped as RB3/flex plays in fantasy, with most of Moss' value potentially coming as a short-yardage, goal-line option.
