Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard made all six of his kicking opportunities in Sunday's 34-7 win over the Houston Texans. The rookie nailed all four extra point attempts and made both field goals, the first from 35 yards out and the second a booming 58-yarder. Reichard has not missed a field goal or extra point attempt this season, making all fifteen of his opportunities thus far. The NCAA's all-time leading scorer has been hampered by the efficient Vikings offense, scoring touchdowns twice as often as Reichard had field goal opportunities, and it's possible the efficiency dips sooner rather than later. If given more opportunities to kick field goals rather than PATs, Reichard may be a valuable fantasy streaming kicker against the Green Bay Packers in Week 4.
Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard went 3-for-3 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra points during Sunday's Week 2 win over the San Francisco 49ers. His successful field goals came from 22, 27, and 39 yards out. The rookie out of Alabama hadn't previously attempted an NFL field goal, but that didn't seem to slow him down as he cruised to double-digit fantasy points on Sunday afternoon. As long as the Vikings continue to play well, Reichard will have some streaming appeal in fantasy leagues with 14 teams or more.
Minnesota Vikings rookie kicker Will Reichard managed to put on a display during spring practices that confirms he has the leg to kick in the NFL for a long time. However, most of his efforts came during positional drills without a defense pressuring him and sometimes even without a snap. During the final organized team activities, Reichard nearly hit a balcony that is perched on the wall behind and above the goal posts while moving through a progression of 40-plus yard attempts. He later drilled a 60-yarder that landed in a net that sits 10 feet behind the goal post and 10 feet off the ground. Reichard's success as a rookie will depend as much on his mental makeup as it does on his leg strength, though. For now, he's just one to watch as we near training camp and the preseason.
