Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett is not worth a fantasy roster spot in Week 18 against the Los Angeles Rams. While Lockett would likely like to have a good game in what could be his final game in a Seahawks uniform, the fact is that he has been completely phased out of Seattle's offense with the emergence of wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Week 17 against the Chicago Bears was Lockett's best game in weeks. He caught three passes for 20 yards last Thursday. It was encouraging to see Lockett earn more than three targets for the first time since Week 9. However, his four targets were not exactly groundbreaking. Unless Lockett finds the end zone, he will be a useless fantasy asset this week. Leave him on waivers once again in Week 18.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett could be playing in his final game with Seattle in the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Los Angeles Rams, but he plans to continue his career in 2025. The 32-year-old former third-round pick in 2015 out of Kansas State has seen his role shrink to WR3 for the Seahawks in 2024 due to the emergence of second-year wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba. After reaching the 1,000-yard milestone four straight years from 2019-2022, Lockett had 894 receiving yards last year and currently is sitting on 572 yards and only two touchdowns on 47 receptions in 16 games this year. Lockett is the franchise's second-leading receiver in catches, yards and touchdowns, but he has accepted his role as more of a facilitator for both JSN and DK Metcalf. With a salary cap hit of $30.8 million in 2025, it's unlikely Lockett will stick around in Seattle.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett is once again not on the fantasy radar in Week 17 when Seattle travels to Chicago to play the Bears. Lockett has received very little target volume since Week 7. Even in Week 16 against the Minnesota Vikings, Lockett could only earn two targets despite quarterback Geno Smith throwing the ball 43 times. The Seahawks have consolidated their targets among the running backs and their top two wide receivers. Lockett is a great veteran presence for this team, but he is not integral to the game plan at all. Despite the Bears being a solid matchup for opposing wide receivers in recent weeks, Lockett should remain on waivers.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett continues to be a disappointment for fantasy. That is unlikely to change in Week 16 despite an excellent matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Lockett has been completely phased out of the Seahawks' game plan. Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has shifted most of the attention to wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and the running game. The Vikings are the worst defense at stopping opposing wide receivers in fantasy. However, that is unlikely to benefit Lockett given how little volume he is receiving. With the Seahawks scaling back their passing attempts over the second half of the season, there simply is not enough to go around for Lockett to be fantasy-relevant. Look elsewhere if you are still alive in the fantasy playoffs.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett only caught one pass for 22 yards in Week 15 against the Green Bay Packers. Lockett's 22 yards marked a game-high dating back to Week 9. In his defense, fellow wide receiver DK Metcalf did not fare much better in Week 15. The Seahawks' offense as a whole was disjointed. Only running back Zach Charbonnet and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba found any success against a relentless Packers defense. Hopefully, Lockett is on waivers in your fantasy league. He simply cannot even deliver flex value at this point. It is disappointing considering how many years of high-end fantasy relevance Lockett enjoyed before the last season or two.
