Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett earned eight targets on Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers. Lockett turned those targets into four catches for 65 yards and his first touchdown of the season. Lockett had been solid for fantasy all season and it was great to see him score his first touchdown to deliver WR2 value this week. He finished tied for third on the team in targets but paced the pass catchers in receiving yards. Lockett continues to be a safety valve for quarterback Geno Smith. He has now racked up 40 targets in six games this season. His 339 receiving yards through six games puts him on pace for 960 on the season. If he can continue to receive solid volume and the touchdowns increase, Lockett could creep up the fantasy radar even farther.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett is a great bye week fill-in in Week 6. He has had a great fantasy floor in 2024, scoring at least 9.6 fantasy points in four of five games. He has also earned at least six targets in four of five games. This game should be a close one but there is no doubt that the Seahawks will need to put the ball in the air if they want to best the division-rival 49ers. With players such as Tyreek Hill, Aaron Jones, and Kyren Williams on bye, you could do a lot worse than Lockett in your flex position. Lockett has also been mysteriously lacking touchdowns this season. If that trend starts to turn around, then Lockett could become an every-week starter in fantasy. He deserves to have a place in lineups in Week 6.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett has become a consistent flex option this season. He has not risen to the ranks of WR2, but he has scored at least 9.6 fantasy points in four of five games this season. Lockett has been an important safety valve for quarterback Geno Smith in 2024. He has earned at least six targets in every game but one in 2024. Lockett has yet to find the end zone this season, but his consistent target, reception, and yardage floor have made him a solid asset for fantasy football. As bye weeks continue to arrive and injuries mount around the league, Lockett will be a solid fill-in for players you may have missing from your lineup.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett (thigh) finds himself in the flex conversation once again in Week 5. Lockett has earned at least seven targets in three of four games this season and that volume will keep him fantasy relevant. Unfortunately, Lockett has only cleared 61 yards in one game. He also has yet to score a touchdown after scoring at an incredibly high clip earlier in his career. However, Lockett is still a trusted safety valve for quarterback Geno Smith and will see his fair share of targets even with the emergence of second-year wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Lockett enters a matchup with a New York Giants team that has lost several playmakers in the defensive backfield in recent years. The Seahawks should have no trouble moving up and down the field against this team which could give Lockett his first chance to score this season.
Seattle Seahawks wide receivers DK Metcalf (hand) and Tyler Lockett (thigh) were both limited in Thursday's practice. Metcalf was a full-go on Wednesday, so he was downgraded a day later. Lockett has been limited in both practices this week. The Seahawks were likely just giving Metcalf a little extra rest on Thursday. Neither he nor Lockett are in any danger of missing the Week 5 matchup against the visiting New York Giants. Metcalf had just three catches for 29 yards in the season opener but is now on a three-game run of going over 100 yards receiving while also scoring twice. He is a must-start against the Giants in fantasy this weekend. Lockett has been dealing with a thigh injury since training camp but hasn't missed any time. He has a lower floor and ceiling in fantasy as a WR4/flex with Jaxon Smith-Njigba eating into his targets. Lockett has 18 receptions (26 targets) for 199 yards and no touchdowns through four games.
