Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is tough to trust in Week 7 fantasy lineups despite an excellent matchup. With the Chargers going with an extremely run-heavy approach on offense this season, Herbert ranks as just QB29 in fantasy points per game. His best game of the year so far from a fantasy perspective was a QB21 finish in Week 6. The Cardinals defense has allowed the second-highest yards per attempt and the fifth-highest passer rating to opposing quarterbacks, but with the Chargers still likely to run, run, run, Herbert is at best a QB2 option, startable in superflex and 2QB formats, but not much of an option in any leagues that start just one.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert led his team to a 23-16 win over the Denver Broncos in Week 6. Herbert finally shed his injury designation for an injured ankle and looked healthy in this one, attempting 34 passes and completing 21 of them for 237 yards and a touchdown. He did not throw an interception, but took three sacks, losing 15 yards. He also fumbled, but it was recovered by the Chargers. His touchdown came on a 38-yard pass to Kimani Vidal in the first quarter. Herbert and the Bolts will play on Monday Night Football in Week 7 against the Cardinals.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (ankle) no longer carries an injury designation heading into the AFC West clash with the Broncos. The signal-caller was limited at practice on Wednesday and Thursday because of an ankle injury. However, he's made progress and logged a full session on Friday, clearing the way for his availability. Herbert has struggled without Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Austin Ekeler no longer on the roster. While he's only thrown one interception, he hasn't tossed for more than 179 yards in a game this season. Unfortunately, Herbert doesn't have much fantasy value outside of multi-quarterback setups in Week 6. That will remain true unless he turns things around, although that may not happen soon.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (ankle) was limited in Thursday's practice session. He has now been limited in back-to-back practices ahead of the week's final session on Friday. Although it is not clear if Herbert will be a full participant tomorrow, there is a belief that he has made progress with his ankle. Herbert looked clearly hobbled in the team's last game against the Kansas City Chiefs, where he threw for just 179 yards and a touchdown. The Chargers are coming off a bye week, giving Herbert more time to recover before a divisional matchup with the Denver Broncos. Herbert is mainly an option in 2QB and Superflex leagues in Week 6, as he's ranked QB23 out of all quarterbacks in the latest RotoBaller rankings.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (ankle) is off the fantasy radar in a Week 6 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Herbert was limited in practice on Wednesday as he continues to recover from an early-season ankle injury. Besides that, the Chargers run-first offense has turned Herbert into the overall fantasy QB32, with no finishes in the top 20 yet. He's 33rd in passing yards per game out of 35 qualified quarterbacks, and 28th in yards per attempt. Combine all of that with a strong Denver Broncos defense that has limited opposing quarterbacks to the fifth lowest passer rating and third lowest yards per attempt, and there's no reason Herbert should be near most fantasy starting lineups this week.
