The Tennessee Titans put the clamps on the Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon, holding him to just 22 yards and no touchdowns on 14 carries and pulling off a 32-27 upset. The veteran running back had his lowest rushing output of the season, but did salvage some fantasy value by catching five of six targets for 23 yards. Houston's offensive line had a brutal showing against a talented Tennessee line, and the Texans rushed for just 40 yards as a team. Fortunately for the Texans and fantasy managers who roster Mixon, the Texans are at Jacksonville in Week 13.
Already one of the top-performing fantasy players of the year, Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon faces another decent matchup when his team plays host to the Tennessee Titans in Week 12. The top Houston back has scored in six straight games and rushed for 100-plus yards in five of six, and now takes on a Tennessee team that ranks 17th against fantasy running backs. The Texans are giving Mixon a feature back workload with nearly four red zone touches and 2.5 targets per game, making him a dynamic RB1 option in any format. He should be starting once again in Week 12.
For the fifth consecutive week, Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon surpassed 100 rushing yards and found the end zone on Monday at Dallas, finishing with 153 total yards and three scores in the 34-10 win. The veteran running back kept up his hot streak with 109 yards on 20 carries, to which he added two catches for 44 yards. Mixon broke a 45-yard touchdown run on Houston's first drive, scored from a yard away later in the first quarter, and capped off the win with another one-yard touchdown. Five straight games of 100-plus rushing yards and a touchdown ties a Super-Bowl-era record. Houston's RB1 will look to keep the momentum going in Week 12 against Tennessee.
Already in great form, Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon finds himself with an excellent matchup Monday against the fading Dallas Cowboys. The running back's age-28 season has seen him score touchdowns five weeks in a row, during which he is averaging 117 total yards and more than three targets per game. The Cowboys, meanwhile, are a mess. Dallas is a bottom-five defense against fantasy running backs that has allowed the second-most rushing touchdowns and third-most rushing first downs. Through nine games, opposing ball-carriers are averaging 4.7 yards per carry against the Cowboys. Mixon is a top-shelf running back in any format this week.
On his worst rushing night of the season, Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon still compiled 90 total yards, two catches, and a touchdown on Sunday in a 26-23 loss against the Detroit Lions. It was the fifth consecutive week in which the veteran found the end zone. The Lions limited the former Bengal to 46 rushing yards on 25 carries, by far his least efficient rushing game of the season, but he broke free for 44 yards on his two catches from four targets. Mixon and the Texans will be favored to snap a two-game losing stream when they play Dallas in Week 11.
