It is likely just a byproduct of the unique tendencies of each New York quarterback, but a situation to monitor nonetheless. We'll be able to glean more from this situation when the Giants square off against the New York Jets next Saturday for their final preseason action.

In his only season with the Houston Texans, Singletary set career-highs in carries (216) and rushing yards (898). Before his stint in Houston, he spent time with Giants head coach Brian Daboll in Buffalo, so there is a previous connection. As long as the Giants don't use high draft capital on a running back, the job should belong to Singletary, giving him fringe RB2 upside in fantasy football.

With the run game not working early, Singletary was leaned on more in the passing game on Saturday. He ran just nine times for 22 yards while catching five passes for 48 yards. Singletary was the Texans' lead back for most of the year and will enter the offseason as a free agent. If he returns to Houston, he could regain lead running back duties in 2024.
