Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) exited Sunday's matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. He's questionable to return. However, considering he needed assistance to the locker room, fantasy managers shouldn't be shocked if he doesn't make it back for the remainder of Week 1. If that's the case, he'll finish with four catches for 44 yards. Hopefully, it isn't anything serious. But Njoku may appear on the injury report ahead of the Week 2 meeting with the Jaguars.
Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku will look to build upon a breakout season last year when he takes on the Dallas Cowboys at home in Week 1. The Cowboys represent a tough matchup for tight ends as they allowed just the 25th-most fantasy points per game to the position in 2023. That being said, Njoku emerged as a top option in the passing attack last year and should continue to be one of the top targets for Deshaun Watson this season. Fantasy managers can comfortably fire Njoku up as a top-10 tight end for the season opener this weekend.
Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku has been banged up during the preseason, but appears ready to go for the season opener. The 28-year-old will get back on the practice field this week as he prepares for the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. Njoku surprised fantasy managers last season with 81 receptions for 882 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games. The Browns have done very little with adding any competition at the tight end spot. Right now, Jordan Akins is penciled in as the No. 2 tight end and he's not a threat to take away targets from Njoku. Last season, Njoku saw 123 targets which is a career-high for the veteran tight end. He figures to once again be relied upon in an offense that doesn't have many reliable options outside of Amari Cooper in the receiving game. Njoku finished as the TE6 last season and he should be able to post similar stats again as long as he can stay healthy.
Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (undisclosed) will return to practice on Tuesday. Njoku had been limited for the past couple of weeks and was described as "sore" by head coach Kevin Stefanski. With little information available about the injury, fantasy managers can begin to breathe a sigh of relief with draft season in full swing. The 28-year-old hauled in 81 passes for 882 yards and six touchdowns in 2023. He finished as the TE6 and was dominant down the stretch of the season. Look for Njoku to pursue a similar stat line in 2024.
Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (undisclosed) did not practice either on Tuesday or Wednesday this week. Njoku has not practiced since last Thursday due to an undisclosed injury, so it appears unlikely he'll take the field for the Browns in Saturday's preseason finale against the hosting Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. Fantasy managers will want to see the 28-year-old veteran pass-catcher back at practice with Cleveland by next week, but the tight end remains safe to pick as a backend TE1 option in drafts this summer. Njoku finished as fantasy's overall TE6 in full-PPR scoring in 2023 and is primed to serve as quarterback Deshaun Watson's No. 2 target behind Pro Bowl wideout Amari Cooper in 2024.
