Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Britain Covey (shoulder) was placed on Injured Reserve this week, meaning he will have to miss at least the next four games. However, it was revealed on Thursday that he suffered a broken scapula during the Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints, and he is expected to be out for at least six weeks. He's not expected to need surgery. While Covery was not expected to be a significant contributor on offense, injuries to A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) would've put him as a top option in the passing game in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If neither Brown nor Smith can suit up, tight end Dallas Goedert will likely operate as Jalen Hurts' No. 1 target, and wideouts Jahan Dotson and Johnny Wilson will see expanded roles.
The Philadelphia Eagles placed wide receiver/return specialist Britain Covey (shoulder) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The team also signed tight end Jack Stoll to the active roster and wide receiver John Ross to the practice squad. Covey suffered a shoulder injury during the Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints, so his brief stint in an elevated role has been cut short. With A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (head) dinged up heading into a Week 4 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team's receiver room is thinning out quickly. Brown could return in Week 4, but like Smith, his status is unclear early in the week. If both star receivers can't suit up on Sunday, Jahan Dotson and Johnny Wilson will see more opportunities, but tight end Dallas Goedert, who just posted 170 receiving yards, will likely be quarterback Jalen Hurts' No. 1 target.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Britain Covey (shoulder) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 3 versus the New Orleans Saints. He had an 11-yard reception and a fair catch prior to his departure. The speedy 27-year-old had merely been filling a depth receiver and special teams role for Philadelphia, so his departure doesn't have major fantasy implications.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Britain Covey (shoulder) has exited Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints with a knee issue in the second quarter. He registered one catch for 11 yards on his only target before leaving the game, but the team has officially said that he's questionable to return in this one. With A.J. Brown (hamstring) already out, the passing game will have to rely on DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and then a combination of Jahan Dotson and Parris Campbell. His status will be one to monitor because his absence would be another big hit for this receiver corps moving forward, and it would be quite the hit to Jalen Hurts' fantasy value as well.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Britain Covey will go on the road to take on the New Orleans Saints in Week 3. The 27-year-old saw his usage increase last week with A.J. Brown (hamstring) out and outproduced Jahan Dotson. Covey had six grabs with only 32% of snaps played, while Dotson saw one target with 79% of snaps played. While it was nice to see the primarily special team player get some run last week, it is tough to trust anyone outside of DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert against the Saints' defense in Week 3 for fantasy purposes. Managers should keep an eye on Covey in dynasty formats, but he is best left on the waiver wire or bench in all formats.
