According to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, the Colts could get quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) back in the lineup for the Week 6 matchup with the Titans. The signal-caller suffered an oblique injury during the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fortunately, Glazer indicated the injury isn't expected to keep him out for long. In the meantime, veteran Joe Flacco, who got the start in Week 5 versus Jacksonville, will operate under center and is worth adding to multi-quarterback fantasy formats as long as Richardson remains on the shelf.
As expected, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) is officially inactive for Week 5 against the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars. Richardson was initially listed as questionable on Friday's final injury report before being downgraded to doubtful on Saturday. Fantasy managers should have already moved the second-year signal-caller to their benches for this weekend. He's been a disappointment as a QB1 in fantasy so far through his first four games in 2024, and it remains to be seen if he can return in Week 6 to face the division-rival Tennessee Titans. The Colts will be missing both Richardson and running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) in this one against Jacksonville. With Richardson out, veteran Joe Flacco will make his first start of the season and could be a boost to Indy's receivers. Flacco should be in play as a QB2 streamer in superflex leagues in Week 5.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) and center Ryan Kelly (neck) have both been downgraded from questionable to doubtful to play in Week 5 against the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars. Richardson suffered an oblique injury in the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and was relieved by veteran Joe Flacco, who now appears to be in line for his first start in Indy in 2024. Fantasy managers were probably already considering benching Richardson this week after his disappointing start to his sophomore season, and now you can officially move him to the bench for Week 5. The 39-year-old Flacco becomes a clear QB2 streamer in superflex leagues against a Jaguars defense that has allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to QBs so far this year. Flacco went 16-for-26 for 168 yards and two touchdowns in relief of Richardson last week against Pittsburgh.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) is expected to be a game-time decision for Week 5 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. He was limited this week and is officially listed as questionable to play on Sunday. Fowler notes that Richardson can't necessarily worsen his current injury, so his Week 5 status primarily hinges on pain tolerance and functionality. The 22-year-old has been an underwhelming fantasy option over the last three weeks, but he'd have a real chance to turn things around this weekend against a Jaguars defense allowing the second-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. If healthy, he'd rank as a low-end QB1. Otherwise, Joe Flacco would earn the start.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game with an oblique injury. The sophomore quarterback exited last weekend's game early with the same injury and was considered "day-to-day" throughout the week. Richardson logged three straight limited practice sessions this week, which suggests that the injury may not be overly serious and that the team is leaning on the side of caution with their franchise quarterback. No.2 QB Joe Flacco was seen taking first-team reps during Friday's practice as well. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Richardson's status leading up to Sunday's game. If the 22-year-old is able to suit up, he should be viewed as a low-end QB1 facing a weak Jacksonville defense. If Richardson is unable to play, he will cede starting duties to Flacco, who threw for 168 yards and two scores in relief last weekend.
