Denver Broncos tight ends Adam Trautman and Nate Adkins both found the end zone in the team's 31-13 victory over the visiting Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at Empower Field in Week 15. Trautman and Adkins hauled in rookie quarterback Bo Nix's first two touchdown passes of the day in a huge victory that boosts Denver's chances of making the postseason for the first time since they won Super Bowl 50 with Peyton Manning. Trautman finished with two catches on two targets for 20 yards and the score, while Adkins only caught the one TD pass of 15 yards on the day. The Broncos haven't utilized their tight ends much in the offense this year, so neither Trautman nor Adkins should be in consideration for a waiver-wire pickup in the fantasy playoffs. Trautman has 11 catches for 178 yards and two TDs in 14 games, while Adkins has only eight grabs for 65 yards and three scores on the year.
Denver Broncos tight end Adam Trautman currently sits atop the depth chart. However, that hasn't meant much, with the 27-year-old amassing only eight catches for 156 yards and a touchdown this season. Granted, Bo Nix had his share of struggles early on in the 2024-25 campaign. But with Nix turning it around over the last few months, most anticipated Trautman would be at least a little more productive. With that in mind, Trautman may make a few more trips to the end zone before the end of the regular season. Still, unless he shows he'll be involved consistently, he has no business being in any fantasy lineup for Week 12 versus the Las Vegas Raiders.
Denver Broncos tight end Adam Trautman came out of nowhere to catch all four of his targets for 85 yards and his first touchdown of the year in the Week 8 win over the Carolina Panthers, but fantasy managers shouldn't be tricked into thinking he's a good TE2 streaming option as the Broncos head on the road to take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9. Before last Sunday's impressive performance, Trautman had just two catches for 32 yards in the first seven weeks. In addition to Trautman, TE Lucas Krull caught both of his targets for 18 yards. The 27-year-old is rostered in 0% of Yahoo leagues despite his big Week 8 stat line and the fact that a struggling Ravens defense has allowed the eight-most half-PPR fantasy points to the position this year. It's a long shot that Trautman will stand out for fantasy managers a second straight week.
Denver Broncos tight end Adam Trautman hauled in all four of his targets for 85 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-14 win over the Carolina Panthers. Well, that came out of nowhere. Trautman entered Week 8 with just two catches and 32 yards on six targets through seven games, so it's certainly a surprise to see him end up as Denver's second-leading receiver on the day. Sunday marked the first time all season that the 27-year-old recorded more than one catch in an outing, and he out-targeted teammate Lucas Krull for the first time since Week 5. He'll need to string together a few more solid outings before we can trust him as a streaming candidate. Still, it was nice to see the former third-round pick get involved in the offense. Trautman and the Broncos will get a taller ask next Sunday in Week 9 when they hit the road to take on the Baltimore Ravens.
Denver Broncos tight end Adam Trautman (core) was held out of mandatory minicamp practices this week as a precaution due to a core-muscle injury. "Just being smart with his reps," head coach Sean Payton said. "He had core-muscle symptoms, which is basically a sprain. He didn't need surgery, so that's the good news. Nothing significant though." It sounds like it's an injury that won't keep Trautman sidelined for the start of training camp at the end of July. The 27-year-old re-signed with Denver in the offseason after catching 22 passes for 204 yards and a career-high three touchdowns in 17 games in his first year in Denver in 2023. Third-year tight end Greg Dulcich (foot) has had trouble staying on the field in his first two years in the NFL, but if he's healthy, he'll be the better bet for fantasy production in 2024 than Trautman.
