Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins caught four passes for 90 yards in the 19-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Hopkins also finished second on the team in targets with nine, behind only Travis Kelce. The Chiefs nearly lost this game, but the Raiders fumbled in the final minute to seal their fate. The veteran receiver had the longest reception for the Chiefs, hauling in a 34-yard reception in the final minute of the second quarter. Hopkins has been a reliable option for Mahomes to turn to since his arrival in Kansas City, despite dropping a pass on a crucial third down in this game. The 32-year-old will look to continue being effective next week against the Los Angeles Chargers, who rank 13th in fantasy points allowed to opposing wide receivers this season. Despite how often Patrick Mahomes chooses to spread the ball around, Hopkins should continue to be a valuable fantasy asset as the Chiefs WR1. Fantasy managers should continue to fit Hopkins into their starting lineups.
Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco had seven carries for 44 yards in the 19-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Pacheco also had one catch for five yards in this contest. The Raiders almost played spoiler in Pacheco's first game back, but they fumbled the game away in the final minute. The 25-year-old displayed his explosiveness with a 34-yard run, raising his yards per carry average to 6.3 in this game. Pacheco received the same number of carries as Kareem Hunt, making it a true 50/50 split in his return to action. That said, Pacheco is the younger and more explosive back, so the split should begin to lean more in his direction. Pacheco will look to be more involved next week against the Los Angeles Chargers, who rank fifth in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs this season. Fantasy managers should be encouraged by how good Pacheco looked in his first game back, but expect it to take a few games before he gets the lion's share of the carries out of the backfield.
Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt had seven carries for 15 yards in the 19-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Hunt also had two catches for zero yards in the contest. The Chiefs were seconds away from their second loss of the season, but the Raiders fumbled their chance away on a bad snap. The veteran running back ceded work to Isiah Pacheco, who returned from injured reserve in Week 13. The two backs each received seven carries, but Pacheco was the more explosive of the pair. Hunt will try to retain some value next week against the Los Angeles Chargers, who rank fifth in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs this season. It will be tough for Hunt to contend with the younger Pacheco, so fantasy managers should prepare for the split to start favoring the latter.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce caught seven passes for 68 yards in the 19-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders handed the victory to the Chiefs with a last-minute fumble. Kelce remained the focal point of the Kansas City passing attack. The 35-year-old had the most catches on the team but averaged just 9.7 yards per catch. Kelce has failed to find the endzone in three straight games since scoring against the Denver Broncos in Week 10. The veteran tight end will look to score next week against the Los Angeles Chargers, who rank 12th in fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends this season. Kelce has been usable as a TE1 but has yet to produce a signature ceiling performance in nearly a month. That said, Kelce has been producing better numbers than most tight ends and is a no-doubt TE1 every week.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 26 of 46 passes (57%) for 306 yards and one touchdown in the 19-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Mahomes also rushed twice for four yards. Mahomes and the Chiefs appeared in line for their second loss of the season before a last-minute fumble cost the Raiders the game. The Chiefs quarterback passed for over 300 yards for the second time in 12 games this season. The Week 13 win also marked the sixth game with one of fewer passing touchdowns for Mahomes this year. That said, the veteran quarterback has been turnover-free in four of the last five games and has turned his best performances of the season recently. Mahomes will look to get back on track next week against the Los Angeles Chargers, who rank 16th in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks this season. Mahomes has demonstrated he still has the potential for QB1 weeks, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to know when those will be. Fantasy managers will hope for a better showing from Mahomes in Week 14.
