Patrick Mahomes Logs Second Straight Full Practice

According to Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) was a full participant during Wednesday's practice. This was his second straight full practice of the week, putting him in a good position to suit up on Saturday to face the Houston Texans. Mahomes left Sunday's game early due to a high-ankle sprain but appears to have avoided a significant injury. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status during Thursday's practice, as it will likely clarify his availability for this weekend. Before exiting Sunday's game, Mahomes went 19-for-38 with 159 yards and two scores against the Browns. If Mahomes can suit up, fantasy managers should view him as a low-end QB1 facing the Houston Texans, who have allowed the 12th-most PPR points to opposing QBs.

Patrick Mahomes Expected To Give It A Go In Week 16

The expectation is that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) is going to try and give it a go in Week 16 against the Houston Texans on Saturday despite suffering a mild high-ankle sprain in the Week 15 win over the Cleveland Browns on Saturday. Mahomes obviously won't be 100 percent if he plays this weekend, but the belief right now is that he will play against Houston. The two-time MVP looked to be in quite a bit of pain in the fourth quarter on Sunday as he hobbled off the field, but head coach Andy Reid said he could have gone back into the game if needed. The Chiefs still have not locked up the top seed for home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs, so they still have something to play for in Week 16. Mahomes practiced in full on Tuesday and is on track to play, although his mobility will certainly be limited if he's active, making him hard to get behind as a QB1 in fantasy.

Marquise Brown Practicing In Full

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown (shoulder) put in a full practice in the first session of Week 16 preparation on Tuesday. Brown injured his left shoulder in the preseason and needed surgery that has kept him from making his Chiefs debut all year. However, now that he's practicing in full, he has a shot to be activated and make his debut this Saturday against the Houston Texans. The 27-year-old was expected to be the team's top wideout when he signed this offseason, but obviously his injury set him back, and the Chiefs have since added DeAndre Hopkins and JuJu Smith-Schuster. The Chiefs will almost certainly ease Hollywood back into the fold on offense if he is active in Week 16, so for fantasy purposes, we wouldn't recommend him as a starting option. That will especially be true if two-time MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) is unable to play.

Patrick Mahomes Practices In Full On Tuesday

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) was listed as a full participant for Tuesday's practice. It's a bit of a surprise after Mahomes suffered a mild right high-ankle sprain in the Week 15 win over the Cleveland Browns in the fourth quarter on Sunday. Head coach Andy Reid said Mahomes probably could have gone back into Sunday's game if he needed to. KC listed the 29-year-old two-time MVP as week-to-week on Monday, but there's a chance he'll be able to suit up this Saturday in Week 16 against the Houston Texans. Mahomes still needs to get through a couple more days of practice without a setback, but the fact he's practicing in full to begin the week is a good sign he'll at least have a shot at playing. If Mahomes does play, he'll be more of a QB2 play in fantasy. If the Chiefs play it safe and hold him out, backup Carson Wentz would make his first start of the year.

Marquise Brown Could Make Chiefs Debut Against Texans

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown (shoulder) returned to practice last Friday and could be ready to make his season debut against the Houston Texans on Saturday in Week 16, according to head coach Andy Reid. The former Baltimore Raven and Arizona Cardinal has not played during the regular season after undergoing shoulder surgery in the preseason. It's tough to know what to expect from him in fantasy football if he suits up, but he's likely to be eased into action ahead of the postseason push. Additionally, Patrick Mahomes (ankle) could sit out Saturday's contest, meaning veteran Carson Wentz would draw a start. "Hollywood" is worth picking up in deep leagues, but he's too risky to start in critical fantasy football playoff matchups if he gets the green light for Week 16.
