Lawson was a fourth-round pick of Cincinnati in 2017, spending all four years with the team. He became a starter in 2020, starting 11 games after only three starts in his first three years.
Jets bolster defensive with Carl Lawson signing
Fantasy slant: The Jets add a much-needed pass rusher in Lawson. New York finished last season ranked 25th in pressure rate (21.7%) despite blitzing at the sixth-highest rate (38.4%). Lawson logged only 5.5 sacks last year for the Bengals, but that figure accounted for 32.3% of the team’s league-worst sack total. He finished second in quarterback hits (24) behind only T.J. Watt. Lawson is a huge upgrade for Robert Saleh's defense. — Derek Brown
