Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (concussion) won't return to Monday's matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Blazers entered Monday night without Deandre Ayton (finger) and Donovan Clingan (knee), resulting in Williams getting the start. Unfortunately, he logged only 12 minutes on the night before exiting for a concussion evaluation, although he still totaled six points, six rebounds, three blocks, and one steal. Portland will play again on Wednesday night versus Indiana, so it's possible Williams carries an injury designation heading into that one, assuming he's not ruled out by then. But if Portland is down Williams, Ayton, and Clingan, Duop Reath might get the start. Reath has played sparingly during the 2024-25 campaign. But he averaged 13.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and shot 37.4% from deep in 20 starts last season, meaning there could be a streaming opportunity on the horizon.
Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (rest) won't play in Wednesday's rematch with the Timberwolves. Deandre Ayton (finger) wasn't available when these clubs met on Tuesday, resulting in Donovan Clingan sliding into the starting lineup. However, Williams benefited the most from Ayton's absence, finishing with 19 points, nine rebounds, three steals, and three blocks. While Clingan scored only four points on Tuesday, the door is open for more production with Ayton and Williams out of the mix.
Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (hamstring) will play on Monday night against the Pelicans. The big man appeared in only six games for Portland in 2023-24 before suffering a season-ending knee injury in November. Unfortunately, he tweaked his hamstring during training camp and has been working his way back since. Without question, Williams is as talented as it gets, especially on the defensive end. However, he'll likely see limited minutes in his first game back, so fantasy managers should keep him on the bench.
Portland Trail Blazers centerRobert Williams III (hamstring) is ruled out for Monday's game against the Sacramento Kings. Williams has not played so far this season due to a left hamstring strain. The injury occurred in training camp, and he has been rehabbing since. Coach Chauncey Billups said Sunday, " he is getting back out on the court," though Billups was not sure when Williams will suit up again, Sean Highkin of RoseGardenReport.com reported.
Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (hamstring) will be unavailable on Wednesday when the team starts its 2024-25 campaign against Golden State. The injury-prone big man is rehabbing a Grade 1 hamstring strain he suffered in training camp. Williams III was initially ruled out for two weeks, but it's taking him longer to get into game shape. Donovan Clingan should get more playing time due to Williams III's absence. However, the seven-foot-three rookie may not be used much on Wednesday against the dynamic Warriors, who don't have a traditional big man in their starting lineup.
