Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren (back) is out for Friday's contest against the Dallas Mavericks. The 20-year-old put up a terrific game on Thursday versus the Chicago Bulls, scoring 20 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. However, the Pistons will let their young center rest and recover from low back spasms. The Pistons sit in last place in the Eastern Conference and do not have much to play for as the season winds down. With Duren sidelined, expect James Wiseman to take on a much bigger role.
Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren (back) is listed as questionable ahead of Friday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. The big man was able to play 31 minutes during Thursday's loss. It appears Duren picked up a minor back injury in the process. If he sits, James Wiseman figures to move into the starting five and get increased playing time. He'll have low-end streaming appeal if Duren is out.
Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren (ankle) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Tuesday's meeting with the 76ers, suggesting he will play. He didn't suit up for Sunday's loss to the Brooklyn Nets because of a sprained left ankle. As a result, James Wiseman got the start but finished with only four points, five rebounds, and one steal. But now that Duren is expected to return on Tuesday, Wiseman won't see much interest from DFS managers. However, Chimezie Metu, averaging 13.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in the last four games, could stay involved, even more so if Cade Cunningham (knee) misses another contest.
Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren (tooth) will be available for Wednesday's game against Atlanta. He lost a tooth and was limited to only five minutes against Memphis on Monday, but Duren isn't on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's matchup. The young big man has had an impressive campaign and should enjoy his battle with the Hawks. Centers are shooting 58.7 percent against Atlanta this season, and only four teams have given up more rebounds to opposing fives.
Detroit Pistons head coach Monty Williams said center Jalen Duren (mouth) practiced on Tuesday. After losing a tooth in a collision with Jaren Jackson Jr. early in Monday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Duren looks to be on the right path to suiting up for Wednesday's tilt against the Atlanta Hawks. The last-place Pistons could always exercise caution with their 20-year-old franchise big man, however, and they will submit their official injury report later on Tuesday. In eight games prior to going down against Memphis, Duren averaged 15.0 points on 65.7% shooting from the floor, 13.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 0.9 blocks with seven double-doubles during this stretch. He would be a strong play in all fantasy settings if he is available against the Hawks, who rank 27th in opponent field-goal percentage (49.3%) in 2023-24.
