He now has a court date set on February 23 in Phoenix on a misdemeanor assault charge according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. If a bigger punishment comes from this court date, he'll likely receive some sort of punishment either from the Pistons or the NBA shortly afterward. Stewart hasn't played since January 28 due to an ankle sprain and he could possibly miss an extended period of time after this altercation.

Phoenix police said in a statement that Stewart was arrested for assault and issued a citation and released. The Detroit big man missed an eighth consecutive game with an ankle injury. Eubanks went on to play and helped the Suns to a 116-100 victory with a six-point, six-rebound effort off the bench. Stewart was set to return to action after the All-Star break, but his comeback might be delayed now because of a potential suspension.
