Golden State Warriors guard Gary Payton II (illness) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. It appears Payton has been cleared to play after sitting out of Saturday's contest. His return won't have a huge impact on the team, but it does help them. Moses Moody figures to have less of a role with Payton back in the mix. Also, Lester Quinones will likely fall completely out of the rotation.
Golden State Warriors guard Gary Payton II (illness) has been tagged as probable on Friday for their game against the Charlotte Hornets. Payton was listed as questionable for the same illness in their last game against the Los Angeles Lakers and was eventually downgraded, but it seems like he's breaking out of the sickness enough to give it a go on Friday. The 31-year-old is a big part of the Warriors' second-unit defense and he should remain in that role now that he's back. Over the last four games, Payton has averaged 7.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists across 14.7 minutes per game. He's not exactly on the fantasy radar right now, but he will take some minutes away from Moses Moody and Brandin Podziemski.
Golden State Warriors guard/forward Gary Payton II might have to come out of the lineup on Thursday against the Lakers due to an illness. The defensive specialist returned to action from a hamstring strain right before the All-Star break and featured in four consecutive games. However, it looks like he might have to sit out some action again on Thursday, with the team officially regarding him as questionable for the contest. Health issues have limited Gary Payton II to only 20 appearances this season. Lester Quinones and Moses Moody will battle for the available minutes if Payton II can't play on Thursday, though neither is a good fantasy option.
Golden State Warriors guard/forward Gary Payton II (hamstring) isn't on the injury report ahead of Saturday's battle with Phoenix. He's set to return to the lineup for the first time since Jan. 2. Health issues have left a major dent on Payton II's season, as the defensive specialist has featured in just 16 games. He will be a decent source for steals to fantasy managers, but Payton II likely won't play enough to make a difference in other areas. He's averaged 1.1 steals for the season in 16.3 minutes.
Golden State Warriors guards Chris Paul (hand) and Gary Payton II (hamstring) both remain out for Wednesday's tilt against the Philadelphia 76ers, but they are progressing from their respective injuries. While Payton returned to practice on Tuesday and is viewed as day-to-day with a strained left hamstring, Paul did some shooting and running following the session and is a bit further away from returning from a fractured left hand. CP3 is due to be re-evaluated in about a week, so he will remain off the floor until after the All-Star break in all likelihood. GPII, on the other hand, could return as soon as Saturday when Golden State hosts the Phoenix Suns. Rookie first-rounder Brandin Podziemski is locked into significant minutes in the Dubs backcourt, averaging 12.3 points on 51.1% shooting from the field, 6.9 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 32.4 minutes through his last nine games.
