Cleveland Cavaliers forward Dean Wade (knee) is questionable for Saturday's game against Houston. He missed the last three games because of a personal matter but was removed from the injury report heading toward this contest, so most had assumed he'd be available. However, Wade is now back on it because of knee soreness. With Max Strus (knee) and Evan Mobley (ankle) still sidelined, Cleveland wants to get him back as soon as possible. But until Wade is cleared to return, Georges Niang should continue to get more work. Unfortunately, Niang isn't always reliable, even when slotted for additional minutes.
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Dean Wade (personal) is expected to return to action in Saturday's matchup against Houston. Following a three-game absence, Wade rejoined practice on Friday and isn't on the injury report ahead of Saturday's game. With Evan Mobley (ankle) missing from the frontcourt, Wade made two consecutive starts before exiting the lineup for personal reasons. He's capable of providing a little bit of everything to fantasy managers, although Wade's offensive production tends to be quite inconsistent. His return will have a negative impact on Georges Niang's minutes.
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Dean Wade (personal) rejoined practice on Friday after being away from the team for three games to tend to a personal matter. Before stepping away, Wade started in his last two games with the team and has held a somewhat consistent bench role when the team was healthy. The silver lining for fantasy managers is that while Evan Mobley (ankle) remains sidelined, Wade should get some more minutes when he gets back on the floor. He's better suited for deeper leagues right now and Georges Niang will take the biggest hit to minutes and fantasy relevance.
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Dean Wade (personal) will sit out a third consecutive game on Wednesday against the Pelicans. Wade exited the lineup last week for personal reasons, and it's not completely clear when he will be ready to return. Georges Niang has played a much more important role without Wade and is looking at an opportunity to make a fifth consecutive start on Wednesday. He's had 12.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals in the starting unit this season. However, from an offensive perspective, this will be an ugly matchup for Niang and the Cavaliers, as New Orleans has proven itself as one of the top defensive teams in the league with a 111.7 defensive rating.
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Dean Wade (personal) won't play on Sunday versus the Nets. With Donovan Mitchell (knee), Evan Mobley (ankle), and Max Strus (ankle) sidelined, the 27-year-old had been getting some extra work of late, most recently logging 33 minutes in Friday's win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. But without Wade in the equation, Georges Niang, coming off a 16-point, six-rebound, two-block performance, should see plenty of interest from the fantasy community on Sunday night, especially those participating in DFS contests. At the same time, Sam Merrill and Isaac Okoro's fantasy ceilings increased significantly once Wade was ruled out.
