Dalano Banton DVOA, Advanced Stats, & Fantasy Rankings

Portland Trail Blazers guard Dalano Banton (illness) is questionable for Tuesday's clash with Brooklyn. The 25-year-old has been in and out of the lineup since December and might have to sit again because he is feeling under the weather. Banton had a good spell in the rotation early in the season, but this came during a time when the Trail Blazers were dealing with several injuries. He's only had a small role to play with a healthy squad, logging just six minutes last time out against Miami.

He missed almost the entire second half of December, playing in only one of the last six games. Now, Banton might also have to sit out the first game in January. With Banton out, Scoot Henderson has an opportunity to play more off the Portland bench. Henderson finished 2024 with a rough outing against Philadelphia, but he has been in good form lately. Henderson's last five appearances include a double-double effort and 11 total steals.

Scoot Henderson should see a slight boost in fantasy value with Banton unable to play. Henderson has been playing better lately with double digit scoring in each of his last four games.

Banton adds a bit more quality to the Trail Blazers bench, with him averaging 9.8 points per game with 2.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 16.7 minutes across the season. However, he does not have much fantasy value with a healthy squad. In fact, this is a horrible matchup for the entire Portland bench, as the Mavericks give up the third-fewest points in the league to opposing second units.

The expectation is that Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe will absorb a few more minutes which should give them an uptick in value for Saturday's game.
