Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley will stick around with the team for at least two more seasons. The veteran guard signed a two-year, $21 million extension with the organization on Monday. This is a team-friendly deal that will allow the 36-year-old to possibly finish out his career in Minnesota. Through two seasons, Conley is averaging 11.7 points, 6.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 2.3 triples across 29.7 minutes. Conley has been consistent throughout his career and is showing no signs of slowing down.
According to SNY's Ian Begley, the Knicks remain optimistic that forward Julius Randle (shoulder) will be back at some point this season. The 29-year-old suffered a left shoulder injury during the January 27 matchup with the Miami Heat. He's making good progress in rehab. But Begley noted that the Knicks "aren't out of the woods just yet." As expected, Randle was having a quality year before going down with the injury. He averaged 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in 46 regular season games. Although his production was down from last season, he remains a potent fantasy contributor. Nevertheless, fantasy managers should hang tight and hope for a positive update. However, until the 2014 No. 7 overall pick returns, Isaiah Hartenstein (Achilles) and Precious Achiuwa should continue to hold things down underneath the basket.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards led all scorers in the 128-91 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night and gave the team their 39th win heading into the All-Star break. Edwards registered 34 points, seven assists, six rebounds, two steals, one block, and one turnover while boasting a huge +36 which was the highest plus/minus for anyone in this contest. He shot 12-for-21 overall, 3-for-7 from deep, and 7-for-8 from the free throw line. Edwards has improved his scoring output so far this season with 26.3 points per game while also improving his assist numbers and shooting percentages across the board.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (knee) will play on Thursday versus Portland. The 22-year-old was riding a questionable tag throughout the day. He went through shootaround on Thursday afternoon, so most had assumed he'd get the green light. Edwards has had a breakout season, averaging a career-high 26.1 points per game. He's only missed three games in 2023-24 and six total in the last two seasons, so his durability gives him more value on the fantasy end.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (knee) is questionable for Thursday's clash with the Portland Trail Blazers. The ailment isn't anything new for the 2020 No. 1 overall pick. It also hasn't kept him off the floor recently. He's coming off a 41-point outing on Tuesday against Portland, the first of consecutive meetings between the clubs. Of course, Edwards should remain in all fantasy lineups, assuming he's available. But if he's not, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, averaging 9.3 points and 1.1 steals in 16 starts during the 2023-24 campaign, would be worth streaming in deep fantasy setups.
