Detroit Pistons forward/center Isaiah Stewart might play on Thursday in Indiana. The 22-year-old had missed the Pistons' final eight games entering the All-Star break because of an ankle injury. Although he is seemingly healthy enough to play, there were doubts regarding his availability after he was arrested for allegedly punching Suns forward Drew Eubanks before a game on February 14. Stewart is due for a court appearance on February 23. However, until the situation is resolved and the league concludes an investigation, Stewart may return as initially expected. For now, fantasy managers should at least consider him questionable. But if Stewart isn't on the court versus the Pacers, Simone Fontecchio, Ausar Thompson, and Mike Muscala could continue to benefit.
Detroit Pistons center/forward Isaiah Stewart was arrested for assault and issued a citation before he was released after getting into a physical altercation with Drew Eubanks after their game on February 14. He now has a court date set on February 23 in Phoenix on a misdemeanor assault charge according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. If a bigger punishment comes from this court date, he'll likely receive some sort of punishment either from the Pistons or the NBA shortly afterward. Stewart hasn't played since January 28 due to an ankle sprain and he could possibly miss an extended period of time after this altercation.
Detroit Pistons forward/center Isaiah Stewart (ankle) was arrested on Wednesday after punching Phoenix Suns center Drew Eubanks. The incident occurred hours before the teams clashed at the Footprint Center in Phoenix. Eubanks said there was an altercation as he entered the arena. He said an argument started, and the two players were chest to chest before Stewart threw a punch. Phoenix police said in a statement that Stewart was arrested for assault and issued a citation and released. The Detroit big man missed an eighth consecutive game with an ankle injury. Eubanks went on to play and helped the Suns to a 116-100 victory with a six-point, six-rebound effort off the bench. Stewart was set to return to action after the All-Star break, but his comeback might be delayed now because of a potential suspension.
Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris (hip) is out again on Wednesday against Miami. Harris is battling a left hip issue and sat out on Monday night versus Cleveland. Kenyon Martin Jr. took his spot in the starting lineup, logging 10 points and eight rebounds in 26 minutes of work. Cameron Payne also stayed involved in that one, scoring 15 points from off the bench. However, Tyrese Maxey, Buddy Hield, and Kelly Oubre Jr. will remain the safest options for fantasy managers on Wednesday, although Payne and Martin have a place in starting lineups in deeper fantasy leagues.
Detroit Pistons forward/center Isaiah Stewart (ankle) won't be available for a seventh consecutive game on Tuesday against the Lakers, but The Athletic's James L. Edwards III has reported that he's starting to ramp up and will return immediately after the All-Star break. The Pistons restart the season following the festivities on Feb. 21, ironically in Indianapolis, which hosts the All-Star weekend. The news means Detroit will be without Stewart for two more games.
