Chicago Bulls guard/forward Zach LaVine (ankle) is expected to miss at least one more week of action. He will sit out a seventh consecutive contest on Saturday against Sacramento. Ayo Dosunmu has taken on a big workload during LaVine's absence, while Alex Caruso has also benefited from the situation. The two could even get a further boost on Saturday, along with Jevon Carter, as Coby White (ankle) is considered questionable and might sit out his first game of the season.
Chicago Bulls point guard Coby White (ankle) is considered questionable versus the Kings. White has had a breakout season, averaging a career-high 19.0 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.7 rebounds while shooting 39.1% from deep. The Bulls can't afford to be without him, considering the team will continue to operate without Zach LaVine (foot). But if White can't suit up, Alex Caruso and Ayo Dosunmu could see a significant uptick in fantasy production.
Indiana Pacers forward/center Jalen Smith (back) hasn't shaken off a questionable tag ahead of Thursday's encounter with the Knicks. He's landed on the injury report with lower back spasms, but Smith was able to play through the issue eventually after also being questionable for Tuesday's game versus Boston. He had a decent 21-minute outing off the bench, scoring seven points while tallying four rebounds and two assists. Obi Toppin will be in line for a bigger role from Indiana's second unit if Smith isn't available on Thursday. He went close to a double-double versus the Celtics and should be very eager to perform well against his former team.
The Chicago Bulls announced on Tuesday that forward Patrick Williams (foot) has been diagnosed with acute bone edema in his left foot and will be reassessed in about two weeks. The three-and-D wing is providing 10.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 three-pointers, and 1.7 combined steals plus blocks per game this year but doesn't need to be stashed in fantasy while he's on the shelf. With Zach LaVine (ankle) also sidelined, Ayo Dosunmu and Alex Caruso will continue to handle expanded roles.
Indiana Pacers forward/center Jalen Smith (back) is questionable to play Tuesday against the Celtics. The former Maryland man is troubled by lower back spasms. With Myles Turner (back) out on Sunday versus Memphis, Smith made his 13th start of the season and had a second consecutive double-double. Turner returned to practice Monday and appears to be trending toward a return, and his presence limits Smith's fantasy appeal.
