Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (knee) is back at first base and is hitting third in the order for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels and left-hander Tyler Anderson. Mountcastle will return to action after missing the last two games with knee soreness. The 27-year-old former 36th overall pick in 2015 has been swinging the bat well this year with a .333 average (25-for-75) with two home runs, 11 RBI and 14 runs scored in his first two games. Fantasy baseball managers need to make sure to get Mountcastle back into their lineups. He's only faced Anderson twice in his career and is hitless with one RBI. So far against southpaws in 2024, Mountcastle is 8-for-25 (.320) with a homer and three RBI.
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (knee) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. The right-handed slugger will miss his second game in a row due to knee soreness. That means, Ryan O'Hearn will cover first base and bat third on Tuesday. It doesn't sound like this issue will force Mountcastle to miss significant time. For now, fantasy managers should consider him as day-to-day.
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (knee) is out of Monday's lineup for the start of a three-game series on the road against the Los Angeles Angels as a precaution due to knee soreness. Skipper Brandon Hyde says Mountcastle is available to pinch-hit from Baltimore's bench if needed, so there's no need for fantasy managers to be alarmed by the infielder's absence. The 27-year-old slugger is slashing a stellar .324/.388/.500 with two home runs, seven doubles, 11 RBI, and 14 runs scored through 74 at-bats (19 games), and he can be expected back in the starting lineup as soon as Tuesday's matchup in Anaheim. Utility man Ramon Urias will slide in to bat fifth against Halos left-hander Reid Detmers and cover the cold corner for Mountcastle on Monday, but he's not the most exciting fantasy option while batting .219 (7-for-32) with just one extra-base hit and two RBI this season.
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle will be on the bench on Friday night as the Orioles open a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Mountcastle has been in the lineup card every game so far and has posted an excellent .298/.364/.468 stat line with eight RBI and one round-tripper. This should be seen as a maintenance day, and as a result, Ryan O'Hearn will slot in at first base. O'Hearn does have a difficult matchup against Freddy Peralta, but he could be a value in DFS as he is batting in the cleanup spot and should see plenty of RBI opportunities.
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle tallied three hits in the team's 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. Mountcastle is off to a great start in 2024, which continued in Sunday's contest. The first baseman started off his day with a double to right field in the first inning and then doubled home Adley Rutschman in the fourth inning to get the O's on the board. He also singled in the ninth inning to cap off his first three-hit day of the 2024 campaign. The 27-year-old is now hitting .294 at the plate with one home run and eight RBI in the first nine games of the season. He should be rostered in every format in fantasy going forward, given his upside in a top offense in baseball.
