Baltimore Orioles first basemanRyan Mountcastlehelped extend the O's winning streak to five games on Monday against the Boston Red Sox 11-3. Coming off a scorching hot series against Chicago over the weekend, which saw Mountcastle go 7-for-17 with three doubles and a .412 batting average, the former first-round pick kept the good times rolling, going 3-for-5 with an RBI, two runs scored, and his team-leading 15th double of the season. While he may be unable to match his career-high 33 HRs from 2021, Mountcastle is still on pace to pop 20+ dingers this year and should score close to 100 runs in the middle of such a stacked lineup. A sleeper pick for many fantasy managers, Mountcastleis makingthose who took the chance on him look very smart.
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle was a hitting machine in the team's 8-6 win over the Chicago White Sox on the road on Thursday evening. Mountcastle finished the contest by going 4-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. The 27-year-old is now hitting a strong .272/.309/.462 with six home runs, 18 RBI and 25 runs scored in 169 at-bats this year. He hasn't been quite as good in the month of May with a .243 average (17-for-70) with no walks and 17 strikeouts, though, and he hasn't driven in a run for the Orioles since May 8. Fantasy managers shouldn't be extremely worried after a four-hit game, especially since Mountcastle has been able to stay healthy so far. The RBI should return in such a strong Baltimore lineup. Mountcastle is currently squaring the ball up on 19.9% of his swings, which ranks 187th in MLB.
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle is not in Saturday's lineup as the Orioles will play the second game of a three-game set against the Seattle Mariners. Mountcastle has only been idle from the Baltimore starting lineup three times this season. As a result, Ryan O'Hearn will start at first base, which opens the designated hitter spot for Anthony Santander. This then allows Austin Hays to slot in at left field. O'Hearn has been a lineup lock against right-handed pitchers this season, and today is no different as he will face Luis Castillo. Hays has recently returned from a calf injury and is making his first start since April 20. Both Hays and O'Hearn are best to fade in DFS as Luis Castillo enters Saturday's match with a 3.31 ERA and 1.12 WHIP and is striking out opposing batters at an elite 29.0% mark.
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle put together a big game in a 7-2 win over the New York Yankees on Thursday. Mountcastle went 2-for-4 with a homer, two runs, and two RBI in the win over Baltimore's AL East rivals. The veteran's homer was a solo shot off of Carlos Rodon in the third inning. The blast traveled 405 feet and had an exit velocity of 107 MPH. Mountcastle is off to a solid start in 2024, hitting .290 with five homers, 18 runs, and 16 RBI across 107 at-bats thus far.
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Oakland Athletics. The 27-year-old has homered in back-to-back games for the first time this season. Mountcastle is enjoying solid production at the plate as he is slashing .319/.379/.527 with four homers, 14 RBI and 16 runs. He may not be the most electrifying fantasy asset, but he is worthy of a roster spot in all formats given his strong start and placement in one of the best offenses in baseball.
