San Diego Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar continued his career year in Tuesday's victory versus the Minnesota Twins. Profar went 1-for-4 on the evening, but his lone hit was a big one. In the bottom of the eighth inning with the Padres down two runs, Profar crushed a three-run home run to give San Diego the lead and eventually the victory. Profar was once one of the top prospects in the game, and although he has found success as a utilityman, he has never put together the season he has in 2024 as a regular. On the year, Profar is now hitting .290 with 20 homers, 76 RBI and seven stolen bases. As one of the waiver-wire gems of the 2024 season, Profar should continue to be rostered universally.
San Diego Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar (knee) is back in left field and is batting second for the Padres in Thursday's series finale against the hosting Pittsburgh Pirates and right-hander Luis L. Ortiz. It's great news for fantasy managers after Profar was forced from Wednesday's extra-inning win after he was hit by a pitch in the right knee in the top of the sixth inning. Thankfully, X-rays on the 31-year-old's knee came back negative, and he's good to go the very next day. Fantasy managers will obviously want to keep the All-Star outfielder in their starting lineups. In just two career at-bats against Ortiz, Profar has a solo home run. The veteran switch-hitter is having the best year of his MLB career, slashing .300/.394/.490 with 19 home runs, 71 RBI and five steals in 113 games. His .394 on-base percentage leads the league.
San Diego Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar (knee) was pulled from Wednesday's game against the hosting Pittsburgh Pirates after getting hit in the knee by a pitch. Profar tried to stay in the contest to run the bases after falling to the ground and writhing in pain, but he was removed after showing a noticeable limp on his way to second base during a Xander Bogaerts single. By the initial looks of the injury, fantasy managers should be relieved that Profar was able to walk it off and remain in the game temporarily. Consider the 31-year-old first-time All-Star day-to-day before the Padres re-evaluate him prior to Thursday's series finale against Pittsburgh. Ha-Seong Kim (triceps) replaced Profar in the lineup on Wednesday, suggesting he'll be back in the mix for San Diego on Thursday. The switch-hitting Bryce Johnson would be in line to join the starting lineup as well if Profar needs to miss additional time.UPDATE: X-rays came back negative on Profar, according to manager Mike Shildt, and he's considered day-to-day.
San Diego Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar smashed two homers, including a game-winner in the top of the ninth, during the Padres' 6-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Friday night. Both homers were two-run shots with the first being off Orioles starter Grayson Rodriguez in the top of the sixth inning for his 17th HR of the season. The two-run game-winner came in the top of the ninth off Orioles closer Craig Kimbrel with two outs and was his 18th of 2024. Profar's turnaround in this season has been a major boost for the Padres. His .865 OPS is a career high and is helping to keep the Padres afloat as they fight to hold onto their Wild Card spot (one game lead over St. Louis) without superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. Profar will look to continue his dominating season on Saturday against Orioles scheduled starter Dean Kremer.
San Diego Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar had a big game in his team's 9-7 win over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. Profar went 1-for-3 with two runs and a grand slam which helped break open the game and propel the Padres to the win. The veteran outfielder got the last laugh in the contest after he was hit by a pitch in his first at-bat, sparking benches to clear and an ejection for his manager Mike Shildt. Profar is putting together an excellent season for the Padres, hitting .317 with 11 homers, 45 runs, 54 RBI, and four steals across 281 at-bats. He has developed into a must-start in fantasy going forward.
