Miami Marlins middle infielder Xavier Edwards and outfielder Jesus Sanchez are out of the starting lineup on Thursday against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park. Edwards will start out on the bench for the third straight game, and it remains to be seen if he's being bothered by a back injury that recently caused him to go on the injured list. Otto Lopez is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff, while David Hensley is in right field for the Fish and batting seventh against Nationals left-hander Mitchell Parker. Lopez is hitless in his three career at-bats against Parker, but he also comes into this one riding a six-game hitting streak in which he's gone 11-for-24 (.458) with a homer, three doubles and four RBI. Sanchez, who hits from the left side, is batting just .146 (13-for-89) against lefties in 2024 with only two of his 17 home runs.

Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez (back) is serving as the designated hitter and is batting cleanup for the Fish on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies and right-hander Zack Wheeler at LoanDepot Park for the second game of the series against the division rivals. Sanchez returns to the lineup after missing the last two ball games with mild back spasms. The matchup isn't the greatest for Sanchez in his return, but he is batting .400 with a .905 OPS and two RBI in 15 career at-bats against Wheeler. In addition to his strong numbers against Wheeler, the 26-year-old Dominican outfielder enters Friday's contest riding a modest five-game hitting streak in which he's gone 6-for-11 with two RBI, two stolen bases and a run scored. Sanchez has offered a modest power/speed combination for fantasy managers in 2024 and has provided 17 long balls and 12 stolen bases in 414 total at-bats.

Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez (back) is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest at LoanDepot Park against the visiting division-rival Washington Nationals. Sanchez was forced to exit Tuesday's game early with a mild back muscle spasm while stealing second base during the second inning of the series opener. He was feeling better after the game on Tuesday and was hopeful he could return a day later, but that won't be the case. Since Sanchez's injury isn't considered very serious, he could be back in action for Thursday's series opener versus the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies. Rookie Griffin Conine is starting in right field and batting eighth on Wednesday against Nationals left-hander MacKenzie Gore. In his first 21 major-league at-bats, the 27-year-old Conine has gone 6-for-21 (.286) with a homer, three RBI and three runs scored.

Miami Marlins outfielders Jesus Sanchez and Kyle Stowers are both out of Saturday's lineup as the Marlins continue a three-game set against the Chicago Cubs. Both Sanchez and Stowers will get the day off because the Cubs are sending out southpaw Shota Imanaga. As a result, Derek Hill will cover left field, David Hensley will cover right, and Cristian Pache will start in center. Hill has posted a solid .258 AVG in his past eight games while Hensley holds a .308 AVG in his past five. Fantasy managers should expect Sanchez and Stowers to return to the starting nine on Sunday afternoon as the Cubs are scheduled to send right-hander Javier Assad to the bump. Both Hill and Hensley should be faded in DFS this afternoon, as Imanaga allowed just one run in his last start.

Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez is getting a day of rest on Tuesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks at loanDepot Park with a left-hander on the mound. Sanchez will head to the bench after starting each of the team's last eight games. Cristian Pache will make the start in center field and will hit seventh against Diamondbacks left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez. Sanchez has hit .226 (14-for-62) in the month of August with three home runs, three doubles, nine RBI and 24 strikeouts in 17 games played. He's hit just .120 (9-for-75) with two of his 15 long balls on the year against southpaws and 24 strikeouts in 82 plate appearances, so it's no wonder he's on the bench on Tuesday. Pache is pretty much only useful to the Marlins for his glove, so fantasy managers playing in DFS contests should avoid him as a low-cost outfielder.
