The Best NHL Prop Bets

Jamie Benn Point

(-120, DraftKings Sportsbook)

More Dallas Stars love from me as we lead with Jamie Benn to pick up a point in Tuesday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres. Benn has goals in three straight games, and he’s found the back of the net in nine of his last 10 games. In fact, the veteran has points in 15 of his last 17 games, and he’s racked up 25 points over that span. Vegas has simply not adjusted his odds and he remains a really good value to hit the score sheet. Dallas has won nine of its last 10 games and 14 of its last 17 games. After a 7-4 win in Colorado on Sunday, Dallas now ranks second in the NHL in goals (3.68) and their 107 points rank second in the NHL, five up on the Avs for the top spot in the Central. Benn’s center Wyatt Johnston has been just as strong for Dallas. The 20-year-old has 43 points in his last 43 games.

Bonus

Cole Caufield Over 3.5 SOG

(-118, BetRivers)

Cole Caufield is on a heater right now as he enters Tuesday’s action with goals in four straight games. The sniper only has 24 goals in 77 games this season, compared to 26 in 46 games last season, but the attempts are there. Caufield is averaging 3.8 shots per game this season compared to 3.4 last season. The puck luck just hasn’t been there for him in year number three like it was in his first two seasons in the NHL. Nonetheless he’s firing right now (20 shots in his last three games), and he gets more looks at home. Caufield is averaging 4.1 shots per game at home compared to 3.5 on the road. No team has allowed more goals at 5v5/60 over the last four weeks than the Flyers.

Bonus

Nick Schmaltz Point

(-140, DraftKings Sportsbook)

There’s some juice with this pick, but Schmaltz has been too hot to ignore and the matchup is great. Schmaltz has picked up at least one point in nine of his last 11 games and 16 of his past 21 games. The winger has 29 points over those 21 games, so I don’t mind spending a little bit more for a point tonight. Especially when you consider he has five multipoint games in his last six. The Kraken have lost 10 of their last 14 games and they’ve struggled to buy a save this season. I added Shane Wright’s shot prop and anytime goal below if you’re looking for a longshot prop. I can’t find his point prop anywhere at the moment. He has two goals, four points and nine shots in three games since his promotion.

Bonus

Andrei Kuzmenko Point

(-130, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Kuzmenko had a strong start to his career with the Calgary Flames, but then he slowed down. He’s back on a high thanks to a promotion to the top line. His usage rates are up (17-plus minutes in five straight games) and it’s resulted in production. The former Canuck has points in five straight games (two goals and nine points, including four on the power play), and he’s picked up at least two points in four of those five games. The Flames are not a great hockey team, but you don’t need me to tell you the Sharks are worse, but I will anyway. Fabian Zetterlund deserves some love though as he has points in four of his last five games and eight over his last eight games. Only the Philadelphia Flyers have a higher GA/60 at 5v5 over the last month than San Jose.
