Bettings

There are eight games on the NHL DFS main slate Monday, with puck drop set for 7 p.m. ET. I ranked my favorite line stacks and a few value plays below, as well as contrarian plays to consider in tournaments.

Before we get after it, the team here at FTN Daily featuring Kenneth Le, Griffin Swanson and me will cover every NHL slate this season which features at least three games.

We’ll all be active in our NHL Discord, even when there is only one or two games on the NHL schedule. It’s important to stay on top of the news, and we’ll help you do that. A last-minute scratch can ruin your lineup if you’re not on top of it, but it can also create a ton of value and opportunity. Everyone inside the NHL DFS chat is on the ball, so keep a close eye.

Below you’ll see a list of all the games on the NHL slate along with the goal total for each. I’ve also listed my favorite stacks, values, one-offs and goalies for the day’s NHL DFS slate. Good luck and let’s get it!

Be sure to check out Mean Streets for daily picks and Dangle Bet Celly for full NHL breakdowns each Tuesday and Thursday.

NHL DFS Strategy and Core Plays

Favorite GPP Line Stacks

Tampa Bay Lightning Line 1

Anthony Duclair, Brayden Point, Nikita Kucherov

With Colorado and Edmonton on the slate and in good spots, we may be able to get the Lightning with low ownership numbers. Since March 1, according to Natural Stat Trick, the Red Wings lead the NHL in shot attempts allowed at 5v5/60. Dylan Larkin missed most of March, but they lost five of six games in March with him in the lineup, including four in a row. Only Columbus has allowed more shots and scoring chances at 5v5/60 than Detroit over the last month, and they rank third in goals allowed (3.46/60). On top of that, Tampa Bay had a league-best 11% shooting rate in March.

Colorado Avalanche Line 1

Jonathan Drouin, Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen

Edmonton Oilers Line 1 & Power Play Line 1

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Connor McDavid, Zach Hyman OR McDavid, Hyman, Evan Bouchard

Florida Panthers Line 1

Carter Verhaeghe, Aleksander Barkov, Sam Reinhart

The Panthers loaded up their top line and the Maple Leafs are without Morgan Rielly and Timothy Lilegren.

New York Rangers Line 2

Artemi Panarin, Vincent Trocheck, Alexis Lafreniere

Seattle Kraken Line 2

Jaden Schwartz, Jared McCann, Jordan Eberle

This feels like a trap when you consider the Kraken’s puck luck has not been the same this season as last year. Seattle was the only team with a double-digit shooting percentage at 5v5 last season. Over the last month at 5v5, they have a league-low 5.10% shooting rate. Matty Beniers leads the team in expected goals and high danger chances over the past month and his new line with Eeli Tolvanen and Oliver Bjorkstrand check a few boxes, but McCann has a team high 83 shot attempts and 41 shots since March 1. His linemates Eberle and Schwartz are second and third in high danger chances over that span. They’re also all on the first power play together.

San Jose Sharks Line 1

Klim Kostin, Mikael Granlund, Fabian Zetterlund

Pittsburgh Penguins Line 1

Drew O’Connor, Sidney Crosby, Bryan Rust

The Pens are a mess, and the Rangers are rolling right now, but this line has been very good of late. O’Connor has goals in three straight games and Crosby has put his team on his back. They shouldn’t come with a lot of rostership. When these two teams played March 16, we saw 11 goals.

My Core

I don’t really want to play chalky Kraken. I’m more interested in one-offs such as McCann, Eberle, Beniers, Bjorkstrand and Burakovsky. Most of their players are cheap, which will allow you to spend on COL, TB, EDM.
