George Kittle Ready To Go Despite Toe Injury

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (toe) missed a third straight day of practice this week on Friday but was not given an injury designation after the first week of preparation for Super Bowl LVIII against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Feb. 11. Kittle suffered a minor toe injury in the NFC Championship win over the Detroit Lions last Sunday and was considered day-to-day on Monday, but he told reporters he's not worried about his injury and he should return to the practice field next week. Even if the Super Bowl were being played this weekend, Kittle would likely play. The 30-year-old caught just two passes for 27 yards in the win over the Lions, but he led all tight ends with just over 1,000 yards during the regular season and had four catches for 81 yards and a touchdown in the Divisional Round win over the Packers. Kittle could easily rebound in the Super Bowl against a Chiefs defense that was vulnerable to opposing TEs late in the season.

George Kittle Misses Another Practice

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (toe) sat out of a second straight practice on Thursday while dealing with a minor toe injury that he suffered in Sunday's NFC Championship win over the Detroit Lions. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Kittle would be considered day-to-day for the first week of practice preparation for the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 11, against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Niners are most likely just giving Kittle some extra rest this week. Even if he doesn't practice on Friday, he should return to the field next week and play in the Super Bowl. The 30-year-old disappointed in the NFC Championship, but he led all tight ends in yardage with 1,020 during the 2023 regular season and will be looking to bounce back against the Chiefs next weekend.

George Kittle Picks Up DNP On Wednesday

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (toe) was listed as a non-participant on the team's estimated practice report on Wednesday. Kittle came out of the NFC Championship win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday with a minor toe injury, and head coach Kyle Shanahan called him day-to-day on Monday. The Niners will likely give Kittle some rest this week, but there's no reason why he shouldn't be ready to rock for the Super Bowl on Feb. 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The 30-year-old led all tight ends in total yards during the regular season and has caught six passes (10 targets) for 108 yards and a touchdown in two playoff games leading into the Super Bowl.

George Kittle Considered Day-To-Day With Toe Injury

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (toe) is dealing with a toe issue and will be considered day-to-day as Super Bowl LVIII approaches in two weeks, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Kittle was on the field often in Sunday's win over the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship, but he apparently picked up a toe injury and disappointed fantasy managers with just two catches on three targets for 27 yards despite the Niners coming from behind to put up 34 points. The 30-year-old has plenty of time to rest his toe before the Super Bowl in Vegas, but we'll keep a close eye on his practice status. It would be a huge surprise if Kittle didn't suit up on Super Bowl Sunday on Feb. 11, and he should be more involved in the passing game against a tough Chiefs defense.

George Kittle Quiet In NFC Championship Win

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle is much happier than his fantasy managers after the team's comeback victory over the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday. The 30-year-old will be heading to Las Vegas in two weeks for a date with the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl XLIII despite a subdued statistical performance. Kittle finished with two receptions on three targets for 27 yards. With a monster day in Baltimore on Sunday, Kansas City's Travis Kelce probably solidified his spot as the top Super Bowl fantasy option at tight end, but Kittle will bring plenty of juice to the matchup as well. Depending on the price, Kittle may be the better value of the two for DFS gamers in the rematch of Super Bowl LIV, as he looks to surpass the four-catch, 36-yard performance he posted four years ago.
