New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (groin) put in his second straight limited practice session this week on Thursday. Slayton is dealing with a groin issue but should be able to suit up this weekend to face the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. However, the impending return of rookie sensation Malik Nabers (concussion, hamstring) would make the 27-year-old Slayton less appealing as a flex play for fantasy managers for the third straight week. Slayton definitely took advantage of Nabers' absence the last two weeks, going for 14 receptions on 22 targets for 179 yards and a touchdown in Weeks 5 and 6. Before, he didn't go over three catches or 56 yards. If for some reason Slayton isn't able to play against the Eagles, Jalin Hyatt would likely serve as the WR3 for the G-Men behind Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson.
New York Giants wide receivers Malik Nabers (concussion), Wan'Dale Robinson (ankle) and Darius Slayton (groin) were all listed as limited participants in Wednesday's practice. It's safe to say the Giants' receiving corps is banged up heading into a Week 7 divisional contest against the Philadelphia Eagles. Nabers' status is the one most worth watching, as the 21-year-old first-rounder has missed the last two games with an injury. However, he's progressing through the league's concussion protocol and has a realistic shot to return this Sunday. Fantasy managers should check back later this week on the status of New York's wideouts. Nabers had 35 catches for 386 yards and three TDs in four games for his injury, so he'll be a must-start in fantasy lineups if he is active against Philly. Jalin Hyatt would benefit the most if the Giants are missing multiple receivers this weekend.
New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton led the team with six receptions for 57 yards in Sunday's 17-7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals but couldn't find the end zone. Slayton averaged 9.5 yards per catch, with his longest reception going for 15 yards, and he was targeted 11 times, including a key pass interference penalty drawn in the end zone that set up a touchdown at the one-yard line. Despite his involvement, the Giants' offensive woes limited his fantasy impact to 8.7 points. While Malik Nabers is out, Slayton remains a solid deep-league flex option due to his target share, but his upside will depend on better red-zone execution from the Giants' offense.
