Per head coach Dennis Allen, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion) is still in the league's concussion protocol, as Matthew Paras of the Saints reported. There is still a chance that the 24-year-old is active for the Saints' Week 8 road tilt against the Los Angeles Chargers. Still, seeing him progress through the process a bit more expedited would have been more encouraging. It's in stark contrast to what rookie wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. has experienced -- suffering a concussion on the same Sunday afternoon yet gaining clearance to play a whole week sooner (albeit for a Monday Night Football matchup. Olave must still be cleared to play by an independent neurologist before being deemed active for the outing against LA. With quarterback Derek Carr's (oblique) status uncertain and the loss of WR Rashid Shaheed (knee) for the remainder of the season, it'd be an enormous boost for the Saints' offense to regain their star wideout.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion) will not play on Thursday night due to a concussion. Olave suffered a concussion last weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was unable to clear the league's concussion protocol. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the 24-year-old's status next week before their game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Olave has struggled to find consistency at times this season but has eclipsed double-digit PPR points on three occasions and tallied a season-high 20.6 points in Week 3. In addition, No. 2 wideout Rashid Shaheed (knee) will also sit out. As a result, fantasy managers looking for a replacement option should consider adding rookie Bub Means, as he saw an impressive eight targets last weekend and could lead the New Orleans passing attack.
New Orleans Saints wide receivers Rashid Shaheed (knee) and Chris Olave (concussion) did not practice on Tuesday. Both players exited the Saints' Week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a little banged up. While Olave has been an inconsistent fantasy asset, Shaheed has been excellent this season and is currently the WR22. He has also seen at least seven targets in three straight games. Olave on the other hand is the WR47 in fantasy. He only posted three points in Week 5 and his injury caused him to finish with -0.5 points in Week 6. However, both players are essential to the success of the Saints' offense as they get ready to face a tough Denver Broncos defense in Week 7. Given that this game will be played on Thursday Night, both players seem to be in high danger of missing this contest. Olave's status is especially in jeopardy given that he is in the concussion protocol and has not begun practicing. The absence of both players would boost the value of wide receivers Bub Means and Mason Tipton along with tight end Juwan Johnson. It would also likely force the Saints to have a heavy reliance on running back Alvin Kamara (hand)
