New Orleans Saints wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. had six catches for a team-high 57 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's loss to the Denver Broncos. Wilson, along with Bub Means and Mason Tipton saw more opportunities than usual as a result of Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) being inactive in Week 7. After making one eight-yard grab in the first quarter, Wilson was uninvolved until the second half rolled around and even then the majority of his targets came when the game was well out of hand. The touchdown, a 12-yard strike from quarterback Jake Haener, came on the Saints' final drive of the game. The Saints' offense started the season red-hot but is now in shambles. Aside from the injuries to his fellow receivers, Derek Carr (oblique) is expected to need more time to recover and stand-in Spencer Rattler (hip) might have been injured on a sack late in the fourth quarter. The garbage time production produced a handsome fantasy score but Wilson isn't a viable option in most leagues. His showing on Thursday brings his season-long numbers to nine catches for 88 yards and one touchdown.
Wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. (ankle) popped up on the New Orleans Saints injury report earlier this week but got a full practice in the day ahead of their Thursday night matchup against the Denver Broncos. Wilson was limited in the team's earlier sessions but carries no injury designation going into Week 7. With Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) both ruled out there is an opportunity for Wilson to see more snaps than usual. That may not result in much fantasy value, though. Olave's early departure in Week 6 afforded Wilson three targets while stand-in quarterback Spencer Rattler gave most of his attention to rookie wideout Bub Means. Even without Patrick Surtain (concussion), Denver still boasts a formidable secondary and their pass rush will give Rattler fits. Wilson is not a viable option in fantasy in Week 7.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. (ankle) was limited for the second straight day ahead of the Week 7 matchup against the Denver Broncos. It appears Wilson picked up an ankle injury over the weekend and is uncertain to play this Thursday. Wilson has been quiet this season, but he posted his best game of the season last week. He hauled in two of his three targets for 28 yards in the loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Normally, Wilson would be a non-factor in the offense, but the Saints are banged up right now. Both Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) are on the injury report and in danger of missing Thursday's game. If that happens, Wilson could end up with a bigger role in the offense.
