Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard's production plummeted as the team's lead back in 2023, but The Athletic's Saad Yousuf thinks the Cowboys don't need to rule out the possibility of bringing Pollard back in 2024 in free agency. Despite his disappointing season as a whole, Pollard was also coming back from a serious leg injury last year. However, he may have proved that he can't be relied on to be a workhorse. If a bidding war breaks out for the 26-year-old, though, the Cowboys won't be expected to consider bringing him back. After earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2022, Pollard averaged a career-low 4.0 yards per carry on a career-high 252 rushing attempts for 1,005 yards and six touchdowns in 2023, adding a career-high 55 catches for 311 yards through the air. Pollard may not have been back to full health until December. Where he ends up in 2024 will ultimately determine his fantasy value.

The San Francisco 49ers signed wide receiver Tay Martin and tight end Jake Tonges, in addition to offensive lineman Sebastian Gutierrez, defensive back Kemon Hall, safeties Erik Harris and Tayler Hawkins, defensive linemen Sam Okuayinonu and Spencer Waege and linebacker Curtis Robinson to Reserve/Futures deals on Tuesday. Martin, 26, spent all of 2023 on San Fran's practice squad. He was on the club's active 53-man roster for one game but didn't catch any passes. Martin was active for two games in 2022 but also didn't record any stats. Tonges, 24, was also on the Niners' practice squad in 2023 but was not active for any games at all.

Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney II said the team still believes in quarterback Kenny Pickett, but they need better QB play moving forward and want to re-sign impending free-agent QB Mason Rudolph, who took over the starting job late in the 2023 season. The Steelers are looking to hire a new offensive coordinator that will bring a "fresh approach" after they ranked 28th in total offense. The Steelers went 3-0 with Rudolph as the starter to close out the regular season to squeak into the AFC postseason picture before losing to the Buffalo Bills in the wild-card round. Rudolph threw for 716 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the final three games of the regular season. He was more efficient than Pickett was, but Rudolph has proven he's nothing more than a low-ceiling game manager for fantasy purposes.

Impending free agent wide receiver Tyler Boyd will draw plenty of interest from several teams throughout the offseason. Although there's a chance the wideout will return to Cincinnati, he didn't rule out one day suiting up for his hometown Steelers. Boyd also conveyed his fondness for head coach Mike Tomlin, with the wideout describing him as "one of the realest dudes in the sport's business." But with just a few weeks removed from the end of the 2023-24 campaign, it's far too early to speculate how this scenario will play out. However, a change of scenery could help Boyd get back to the 1,000-yard receiving conversation. At any rate, the 29-year-old, who also played college ball at Pitt, would make a welcome addition to any team, especially after a relatively successful tenure with the Bengals.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph is set to hit free agency heading into the 2024-25 campaign. However, several of Pittsburgh's prominent offensive options, specifically Diontae Johnson and George Pickens, seemingly want Rudolph to remain the team's starting signal-caller moving ahead. It's no secret Kenny Pickett has struggled since entering the league. But after Pickett didn't start late in the year, Rudolph played well enough to lead the Steelers to three consecutive wins and an AFC Wild Card appearance. At any rate, dynasty managers should keep the 28-year-old on the roster, considering there's a chance he'll remain in Pittsburgh. If Rudolph inks a new deal, Pickens and Johnson could also benefit, mainly since the duo played better after Pickett wasn't in the picture.
