Titans Add Matthew Wright To Practice Squad

The Tennessee Titans signed free-agent kicker Matthew Wright to their practice squad on Thursday. Nick Folk (abdomen) has not practiced this week and is danger of missing another game in Week 17 when the team takes on the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars. Brayden Narveson filled in at kicker in the Week 16 loss to the Indianapolis Colts and missed his only field-goal attempt, which prompted the team to waive him this week. So if Folk is ruled out on Friday, the 28-year-old Wright will be added to the 53-man roster by Saturday to serve as the kicker on Sunday. Wright has appeared in three games in 2024 with the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs and has gone 11-for-12 on field goals and 5-for-5 on extra points. He's been solid in a small sample size but should be ignored in fantasy lineups in Week 17 if Folk is ruled out for Tennessee.

Tyler Boyd Hasn't Practiced This Week

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Tyler Boyd (foot) missed a second straight practice this week on Thursday. Boyd suffered a foot injury in last week's loss to the Indianapolis Colts and is now in danger of having to sit out this Sunday's divisional contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 30-year-old veteran will need to return to practice on Friday to avoid being ruled out entirely. In Tennessee's lackluster offense and low-volume passing attack in 2024, Boyd hasn't really been on the fantasy map while working behind WR1 Calvin Ridley. In 15 games in his first year with the Titans, Boyd has a mere 37 receptions on 53 targets for 376 yards and no touchdowns. He has not had more than six receptions or 55 yards receiving in a single game in 2024. In the last four games, he has just eight catches for 103 yards. Avoid Boyd in Week 17.

Nick Folk Sidelined Again On Thursday

According to Turron Davenport of ESPN, Tennessee Titans kicker Nick Folk (abdomen) did not practice for the second straight day on Thursday. Folk did not suit up last weekend and is in danger of missing his second-straight contest. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status on Friday in case he is able to practice in some capacity. However, the 40-year-old will likely face an uphill battle to return to action this weekend. Across 14 games this season, Folk has posted an impressive 95.5% FG conversion rate and has gone a perfect 25-for-25 on extra points. Brayden Narveson will get the starting nod if Folk cannot play on Sunday. However, given the inconsistencies of the Tennessee offense, both kickers should not be in your starting lineup in the fantasy playoffs.

Tony Pollard Not Seen At Thursday's Practice

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (ankle) was not spotted at the open portion of Thursday's practice, according to team reporter Turron Davenport. Pollard has not taken part in practice often over the last few weeks yet has not missed a game this season. However, with sophomore running back Tyjae Spears finally healthy, he has eaten into Pollard's workload. Spears has logged 23 touches and scored four touchdowns in his last two games. That said, fantasy managers in deeper setups will likely have to start Pollard if he's active on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, so his status should continue to be monitored throughout the rest of the week.

Tony Pollard Estimated As Non-Participant Wednesday

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (ankle) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimation. The Titans didn't hold an actual practice, but if they had, Pollard would not have participated. The 27-year-old has routinely appeared on the Titans' injury report this season, but he has managed to play in all 15 games so far, totaling 1,017 rushing yards, 238 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. He ranks as the overall RB19 in fantasy football while cementing himself as the Titans' clear-cut No. 1 running back option over Tyjae Spears. Seeing Pollard listed as DNP on Tennessee's injury report is understandably concerning for fantasy managers, but it's not necessarily indicative of his Week 17 availability. In fact, just last week, Pollard missed all three practices but still managed to suit up on Sunday afternoon. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the Titans' injury report and, if necessary, check back to confirm his availability when Tennessee releases its list of inactive players on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Eastern. If Pollard does play, he'll rank as a mid-to-high RB2 option against the Jacksonville Jaguars' subpar run defense.
