Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans was unable to carry his Week 1 success into Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. The veteran wideout finished with 61 yards and two touchdowns in the season opener. However, he was only able to haul in three receptions for 42 yards in the Week 2 win over the Detroit Lions. Evans and quarterback Baker Mayfield weren't on the same page here as Evans only hauled in half of his targets. Fellow wideout Chris Godwin had a much better performance with over 100 yards on Sunday. Evans should be fine and remain on the WR1 radar for a favorable matchup against the Denver Broncos next week.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin had seemingly no issues against the Detroit Lions in Week 2. Last week, Godwin finished with eight receptions for 83 yards and he was able to top that here. On Sunday, Godwin snagged seven of his eight targets for 117 yards and a touchdown in the win. It seems that moving Godwin back to the slot has really worked out for the Bucs offense. Normally, Godwin takes a backseat to fellow wideout Mike Evans, but not this week. It seems like Godwin and Mayfield have great chemistry and hopefully this continues going forward. Godwin has been excellent through the first two weeks and he should be a strong WR2 versus the Denver Broncos next week.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White failed to do much damage during the Week 2 matchup against the Detroit Lions. White was forced to exit early in the first quarter due to a groin issue. Luckily, White was only out for a few plays, but fantasy managers wouldn't even notice that he came back. The former third-round pick rushed 10 times for 18 yards while hauling in one reception for five yards in the win. It was a bad day for White who was outrushed by fellow back Bucky Irving and even quarterback Baker Mayfield. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too worried as White will get a favorable matchup against the Denver Broncos next week. He should be able to bounce back there and hopefully this was a fluke.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield didn't have the prettiest stat line, but he was able to do enough on Sunday. Mayfield completed 12-of-19 passing attempts for 185 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the win over the Detroit Lions. He was running all over the field with the Bucs offensive line struggling to contain Aiden Hutchinson who got to Mayfield five times. Mayfield was able to scramble around for 34 additional yards on five rushing attempts with one rushing touchdown. It wasn't as excellent as Week 1, but Mayfield was serviceable for fantasy managers. He should remain a low-end QB1 for Week 3 against the Denver Broncos.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White (groin) returned to Sunday's meeting with the Detroit Lions. He exited the contest briefly due to a groin issue and was listed as questionable to return. However, while it's good to see White back on the field, fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised to see him receive a reduced workload, with Bucky Irving potentially in line to see more work for the remainder of Week 2. There's also a good chance White appears on the injury report ahead of Tampa's Week 3 clash with the Denver Broncos, meaning fantasy managers should plan in advance.
