Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White (foot) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. White opened the week as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice but was downgraded to a non-participant on Thursday and Friday, which does not bode well for his status this weekend. If White is unable to suit up, fourth-round rookie Bucky Irving would get the starting nod. Irving has seen his opportunities increase over the past few weeks due to his strong efficiency as a runner. If White is unable to play, fantasy managers should feel confident locking Irving into their lineups as a high-upside RB2.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said that running back Rachaad White (foot) will be a game-time decision for the Week 6 clash against the division-rival New Orleans Saints on Sunday. If White is unable to gain clearance on Sunday, rookie Bucky Irving will have clear RB2 upside on the road in New Orleans as Tampa's primary back. The good news for fantasy managers hoping to use White this week is that they'll know early on Sunday whether he's good to go. The 25-year-old former third-rounder in 2022 out of Arizona State has averaged a mediocre 3.7 yards per carry through five games in 2024 and has been outperformed by the more explosive Irving so far. Even if White is active this weekend, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him take a back seat to Irving, making him more of a low-upside RB3/flex against a Saints defense that has been above-average this season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Trey Palmer (concussion) missed his second straight day of practice on Thursday. Palmer sat out of last week's game as well due to a concussion. It appears the young wideout is still in concussion protocol ahead of the Week 6 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. It's worth noting that fellow wideouts Jalen McMillan (hamstring) and Kameron Johnson (ankle) are also on the injury report. That being said, Sterling Shepard could be looking at a bigger role on Sunday. He hauled in three receptions for 51 yards during the Week 3 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White (foot) was absent during Thursday's practice session. This is a downgrade for White who was limited to open the week. This is obviously not a good sign heading into Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. However, Friday's practice will go a long way to deciding whether or not White will play this weekend. If he sits, Bucky Irving will be asked to carry the workload in the backfield. He'd move into RB2 territory if White is unable to play this weekend.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White (foot) was listed as limited in the team's first practice of the week. The third-year back was efficient in the Buccaneers' 36-30 loss to the Falcons last Thursday night, averaging 7.2 yards per carry over his ten rush attempts. However, he appeared to be bent awkwardly while being taken to the ground by an Atlanta defender. White returned to the contest after leaving the field but did not look to be 100%. It's an encouraging sign that he could practice in at least a limited fashion, but fantasy managers will want to monitor his status over the coming days. Rookie running back Bucky Irving will handle most of the running back touches if White can't play. The 25-year-old has improved his efficiency on the ground over the last two weeks and still leads this backfield in snaps. However, the former fourth-round pick has closed the snap-share gap since Week 3. Atlanta gets a formidable opponent in Week 6 when they take on the New Orleans Saints on the road.
