New York Giants tight end Theo Johnson continued to build on his momentum in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Munich, Germany, catching four passes for 37 yards on six targets. Averaging 9.3 yards per reception with a 13-yard long catch, Johnson showcased his reliable presence in the Giants' offense. Coming off a breakout Week 9 performance that saw him score his first career touchdown, Johnson has emerged as the team's most dependable tight end option. While he didn't reach the end zone this week and finished with only 5.7 fantasy points, his consistent target share and solid yardage suggest a growing role that fantasy managers should keep an eye on as he becomes a go-to option for quarterback Daniel Jones.
New York Giants tight end Theo Johnson (knee, back) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice session. This marks back-to-back days that Johnson has been limited due to multiple injuries. Normally, Johnson isn't much of a factor in the offense, but he's coming off his best game of the season last week. He hauled in three of his six targets for 51 yards and a touchdown during the Week 9 loss to the Washington Commanders. The Giants are banged up right now, so Johnson could continue seeing more targets going forward. He could be on the TE2 radar if active for the Week 10 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
New York Giants tight end Theo Johnson posted his best fantasy performance of the season in Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Washington Commanders, catching three passes for 51 yards and a touchdown (the first of his career). Targeted six times, Johnson made his presence felt with a 35-yard grabthe longest play of the game for the Giantshighlighting his potential as a big-play option. Averaging a strong 17 yards per catch, he provided a downfield threat rarely seen from the tight end position on this roster. The rookie finished with 12.6 fantasy points, well above his previous season high of 7.3 in Week 5, Johnson may be earning more looks in the passing game as the Giants search for consistent playmakers.
New York Giants rookie tight end Theo Johnson continued to struggle with another abysmal fantasy week in the team's 28-3 loss to the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7. The rookie out of Penn State didn't receive a single target, while his counterpart, Daniel Bellinger, caught his only target for 11 yards. The passing game struggled mightily with quarterback Daniel Jones only accounting for 99 yards through the air before backup Drew Lock entered the game and added six more. Johnson hasn't been able to string together any type of consistency right now, but neither has the tight end position as a whole for the Giants. His next chance to bounce back will be against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8.
New York Giants tight end Theo Johnson will look to make an impact in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles after recording 30 yards on three catches in Week 6 against the Bengals. Johnson has struggled to find consistent fantasy relevance this season, with 11 receptions for 115 yards and no touchdowns, averaging just 2.83 fantasy points per game. He faces a tough matchup against an Eagles defense that ranks 2nd against tight ends, allowing just 6.24 points per game. While the Eagles pass defense is vulnerable overall, ranking 20th in yards allowed, Johnson will need to capitalize on limited opportunities, as Philadelphia has only given up seven passing touchdowns all season.
