After injuring his ankle in the Week 10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby (ankle) was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice. In addition, fellow back D'Ernest Johnson (hamstring) was limited. After re-entering the game on Sunday, Bigsby only saw two offensive snaps the rest of the way and could be in danger of sitting out this Sunday versus the Detroit Lions. The 23-year-old second year back has been more efficient than backfield mate Travis Etienne Jr. this year, averaging 5.5 yards per carry while putting up 519 rushing yards and four TDs in 10 games. However, his injury is now a concern this week and the fantasy upside of all of Jacksonville's offensive weapons will take a pretty big hit as long as quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) is out. Bigsby is currently lining up as a shaky RB3/flex this week for fantasy managers.
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby finished with just two carries for four yards in a 12-7 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Starting running back Travis Etienne Jr. returned from injury this week, but despite that, most expected the two running backs would split touches. However, Etienne Jr. dominated touches instead, finishing with 11 carries and one reception. The offense as a whole failed against the Vikings, making each offensive player's upside even lower than before as long as Mac Jones is under center. If Bigsby falls back into a full-time backup role, he goes from a decent flex option to exclusively a handcuff, the same fantasy outlook he had to start the season. Bigsby will look to be more involved out of the backfield in Week 11 against the Detroit Lions.
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby will have to hold off Travis Etienne Jr. once again against the Minnesota Vikings. He was limited in practice all week due to an ankle injury but is fully off the injury report after Friday's practice. Bigsby had a big Week 7 against the New England Patriots with Etienne Jr. out but had a down week in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles with Etienne Jr. back. This week could be a bit different, as with the receiving core banged up and Mac Jones replacing Trevor Lawrence, the running backs could be relied on more than usual both on the ground and in the passing game. Especially with a blitz-heavy defense from Brian Flores, the short passing game specifically could be a large part of the game plan. Bigsby serves as an interesting flex play in Week 10.
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby (ankle) remains on the injury report for Week 10 and was listed as limited in the first practice of the week on Wednesday with an ankle injury. Bigsby may not be 100 percent for the rest of the year, but he should be fine to play in Week 10 versus the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. With Travis Etienne Jr. (hamstring) returning in the Week 9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Bigsby saw only eight carries and rushed for 22 yards while not seeing a single target. The 23-year-old has been Jacksonville's most productive ball-carrier on the ground in 2024, but D'Ernest Johnson is also used in passing situations, and the return of Etienne will hurt Bigsby's overall fantasy upside. It doesn't get any easier this Sunday against the Vikings, either, who have defended the run well. Bigsby is lining up as a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex in Week 10.
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby was deemed active not too long before kickoff on Sunday but wasn't able to produce a big performance in the 28-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The 23-year-old saw eight carries for 22 yards and didn't get targeted at all in the passing game. Bigsby has been seeing a higher percentage of snaps this season but hasn't been able to produce many fantasy points when Travis Etienne Jr. is also active. The ground game in general was shut down in this contest and they had to play catch up almost the entire time. The Jaguars will take on another tough defense in the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10.
