Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods (hip) was able to return to practice with the team on Wednesday after he was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday. Woods was held out of the Week 18 regular season finale win over the Indianapolis Colts last Saturday, but the fact that he returned to practice on Wednesday, bodes well for his chances of returning for Saturday's wild-card playoff game against the visiting Cleveland Browns. About the only way fantasy managers playing DFS this week will want to consider the 31-year-old veteran for a lineup spot is if Noah Brown (back) misses a second straight game. The Browns secondary is one of the toughest for opposing wideouts, and Woods had only 40 receptions for 426 yards and one touchdown on 75 targets for Houston this year. UPDATE: Woods was limited in Wednesday's practice.
Houston Texans wide receivers Robert Woods (hip) and Noah Brown (back) were both listed as non-participants on the team's Tuesday practice report. Both Woods and Brown were inactive in the Week 18 regular season finale win over the Indianapolis Colts last Saturday to secure the AFC South title. It resulted in Nico Collins going off for nine catches on nine targets for 195 yards and a touchdown, while tight end Dalton Schultz had five catches (seven targets) for 42 yards. Rookie Xavier Hutchinson had four targets. Woods and Brown will need to return to practice over the next two days to have a shot to face the Cleveland Browns on wild-card weekend this Saturday. If neither wideout is able to play, Collins is going to draw a lot of attention from a much better secondary in the Browns.
Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods (groin) has been ruled out ahead of the Week 18 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. This doesn't come as much of a surprise given Woods was considered questionable heading into this game. The Texans will be shorthanded at wideout with Noah Brown (back) joining Woods on the sideline. That means, Nico Collins, Xavier Hutchinson, and John Metchie III figure to start this game. Between the three, Collins is the only reliable option and should see a ton of looks during this must-win Saturday night matchup.
Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods (hip) was unable to practice all week but is listed as questionable to play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday night. The Texans already ruled out Noah Brown (back) for this one, so if Woods doesn't get cleared to play on Saturday, the Texans will be down to Nico Collins, rookie Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie III as their three receivers. Even if Woods plays, expect both Collins and tight end Dalton Schultz to be heavily targeted by quarterback C.J. Stroud in a must-win game for Houston. The 31-year-old Woods just hasn't been reliable at all for fantasy purposes, and that probably won't change this weekend if he's able to suit up. In 14 games this year, the veteran pass-catcher has just 40 grabs for 426 yards and one touchdown.
Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods (hip) was listed as a non-participant in Tuesday's walkthrough practice. Woods and Noah Brown (back) left the Week 17 win over the Tennessee Titans and are now up in the air to play in a must-win Week 18 contest versus the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday night. Even if Woods returns to practice on Wednesday or Thursday and is active this weekend, he'll be extremely hard to trust in fantasy lineups with a championship still on the line. The 31-year-old veteran has just 40 receptions for 426 yards and one touchdown (back in Week 6) on 75 targets this year. If one or both of Brown/Woods are out or limited in Week 18, John Metchie III and rookie Xavier Hutchinson would have bigger roles in the passing game.
