Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans caught three of his seven targets for 48 yards in the blowout Wild Card win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Evans had a few key drops in Monday night's contest, or he could've had a monster outing. Either way, the Buccaneers are on to the next round of the NFL Playoffs and will face the Detroit Lions at Ford Field on Sunday. The Lions allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers during the regular season, so Evans will have the chance to bounce back from his disappointing performance in his eighth career playoff game.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales said the team is looking for ways to get future Hall of Fame wide receiver Mike Evans involved in the offense heading into their wild-card playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. Canales touched on how opposing defenses often double- and triple-team Evans, so the team has to get creative in finding ways to get the football into the 30-year-old's hands. Since a two-touchdown performance in Week 16, Evans was quiet in the final two weeks of the regular season with six catches for 92 yards. The good news is the Bucs and Evans are in a great bounce-back spot while facing an Eagles defense that allowed the most half-PPR fantasy points per game (36.6) to opposing receivers in 2023. Expect Tampa to do everything in their power to get Evans involved as much as possible on Monday evening.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans hasn't been involved as much in the offense over the last few weeks. In fact, fellow wideout Chris Godwin has seen a 29 percent target share compared to Evans' 19 percent share since Week 12. Possibly, the various injuries to quarterback Baker Mayfield is contributing to the lack of targets for Evans. Regardless, the Bucs need to find a way to get Evans involved in the passing game during Monday's playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Evans finished with 60 receiving yards and a touchdown during their last meeting in Week 3. The expectation is Evans will remain the primary deep threat for this team against the Eagles shaky secondary. Despite his recent slump, DFS players should be able to count on Evans this weekend.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans started out red-hot, but has slowed down over the last few weeks. The veteran wideout had trouble making much noise at all during Sunday's Week 18 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Evans hauled in three of his eight targets for 22 yards in the win. It could've been a bigger game for Evans, but quarterback Baker Mayfield missed him on an overthrow that would've been a big play. Despite the sluggish performance, Evans will still be an important part to this offense heading into the postseason.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has been a reliable option for fantasy managers throughout most of the season. The veteran wideout has been a touchdown-machine with 13 scores heading into Week 18. This weekend, Evans will match up against the Carolina Panthers defense. A unit that allowed seven receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown to Evans earlier in the season. DFS players looking for a reliable option this weekend should be able to count on Evans. He has been the best offensive weapon on this team all season long.
