Sunday's contest is not projected to feature much scoring as gusting winds and snow are expected in Buffalo. Even if Rudolph manages to overcome the harsh weather conditions, he will also need to conquer a stout Bills' pass defense to make an impact for fantasy purposes. Buffalo has surrendered the seventh-fewest yards through the air and the seventh-fewest fantasy points to opposing signal-callers this season. Fantasy managers should make an effort to avoid Rudolph in all formats this weekend.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said the team is sticking with quarterback Mason Rudolph as their starter for Sunday's wild-card playoff game at the Buffalo Bills. Kenny Pickett has recovered from tightrope surgery on his ankle, but Rudolph has earned the starting gig heading into the postseason after leading the Steelers to three straight wins to secure the seventh and final playoff spot in the AFC. While he's been a stabilizing force for the Steelers offense, he hasn't really been great for fantasy purposes, going 53-for-71 for 716 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in his three starts down the stretch. On the road in likely frigid conditions in a hostile environment in Buffalo this weekend isn't going to make him an attractive DFS play, even at a low cost.

Weather conditions in Baltimore made things difficult for the 28-year-old, who fumbled three times in the contest. Fortunately for Pittsburgh, only one resulted in a turnover. Big plays were difficult to come by on Saturday, but Rudolph did complete a strike over the middle of the field to Diontae Johnson for a 71-yard score early in the fourth quarter. Following a 0-3 run that mostly featured Mitch Trubisky at quarterback, the Steelers are now 3-0 over the past three weeks with Rudolph under center. It is safe to assume that Rudolph will retain QB1 duties should Pittsburgh make it into the playoffs.

While it wasn't really all that notable from a fantasy perspective, the 28-year-old has now led the Steelers to two important wins in a row and will keep the starting gig for the regular season finale despite the fact that Pickett has recovered from ankle surgery. Pittsburgh will likely continue to lean on their ground game and defense, making Rudolph a low-end QB2 for fantasy managers in superflex leagues that will still be playing for something in Week 18.
