Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers Kadarius Toney (ankle, hip) and Justyn Ross (hamstring) were both listed as limited for the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Toney was limited in practice last week but did not play in the wild-card victory over the Miami Dolphins. The 24-year-old has not been active since Week 15, so even if he's able to return to face the Buffalo Bills on Sunday in the Divisional Round, it's likely that he won't see much time on the field as a legitimate offensive threat for the Chiefs. Ross injured his hamstring in the Week 18 regular season finale and was also inactive this past Saturday night. Even more so than Toney, Ross will be off the DFS radar if he's active against Buffalo. The 24-year-old pass-catcher only had six receptions for 53 yards during the regular season.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers Kadarius Toney (ankle, hip) and Justyn Ross (hamstring) have been ruled out ahead of Saturday's playoff matchup against the Miami Dolphins. This news doesn't come as much of a shock considering both players were listed as questionable heading into this game. Toney has missed the last three games, while Ross has barely been involved in the offense all season long. The expectation is that wideout Rashee Rice and tight end Travis Kelce will be the primary pass-catching weapons for this offense. Also, Richie James and Mecole Hardman could see more involvement, but they wouldn't be recommended DFS options.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers Kadarius Toney (ankle, hip) and Justyn Ross (hamstring) were both listed as questionable for Saturday's wild-card playoff game against the visiting Miami Dolphins. Toney was limited in practice all week, while Ross was limited on Wednesday and Thursday. With rookie Rashee Rice (hamstring) returning this weekend, it's hard to get behind any of KC's other pass-catchers despite an excellent matchup against the banged-up Dolphins defense. Toney missed the team's last three regular season games. He's trending up toward a return to face Miami, but we'd be surprised if the oft-injured Toney was a big part of the Chiefs' offense in this one. If active, the 24-year-old Ross probably won't see the field all that much. He had only six receptions for 53 yards and no scores in 10 games in 2023.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (ankle, hip) was listed as a limited participant in practice for the second straight day on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Justyn Ross (hamstring) returned to a limited practice after being a DNP on Tuesday. Toney is trending toward playing on super wild-card weekend this Saturday evening against the Miami Dolphins despite missing each of the final three games of the regular season. The Dolphins have been absolutely decimated by injuries on the defensive side of the ball in recent weeks, which is good news for a Chiefs offense that was rather mediocre during the regular season. Still, even if the 24-year-old Toney is active this weekend, he'll be a boom/bust DFS option with limited upside. In his first full year with KC, Toney had just 27 catches for 169 yards and one touchdown on 38 targets.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (ankle, hip) was listed as a limited participant in practice on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Justyn Ross (hamstring) didn't practice. Toney, who was disappointing in his first full year with the Chiefs in 2023, is hoping to return for Saturday's wild-card playoff game against the Miami Dolphins after missing the last three games of the regular season. The 24-year-old wasn't used in the Chiefs' offense as much as expected and finished with only 27 receptions on 38 targets for 169 yards and a touchdown in 13 games while carrying the ball 11 times for 31 yards. Even if he returns for wild-card weekend in a plus matchup against the banged-up Dolphins defense, DFS gamers should be able to find more reliable low-cost options for their lineups. Ross wasn't a fantasy name to begin with, but he might not be able to play this Saturday after hurting his hamstring in the Week 18 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
