Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds (Achilles) did not participate in practice Friday and was off on the side field instead. Apparently, the veteran wideout has picked up an Achilles injury of sorts, though it doesn't seem to be very serious. When asked about Reynolds, Broncos' head coach Sean Payton said, "he's doing well." "Today, he felt a lot better. He's got some wear and tear on one of his Achilles. He's fine; we just kind of backed off. But today, he was much better." There isn't much concern here as of now, and we'll likely get an update on him over the coming days. Behind Courtland Sutton, the Denver wide receiver room is mostly vague regarding who will be the next man up. If he can stay healthy, the journeyman wideout likely has a shot to do just that. He's Yahoo!'s WR105 and has a decent chance to contribute in a situation that has not yet cleared itself. Reynolds remains a target in best ball and deep-league formats.
Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds signed a two-year, $9 million contract to join the organization this offseason, and given the lack of high-end receiving weapons on the roster, he should play a significant role in 2024. The former Los Angeles Ram, Tennessee Titan, and Detroit Lion has impressed so far during his first training camp with the team. "Look the guy that jumped out was Josh Reynolds." head coach Sean Payton said "He had three or four catches that were something else." Broncos insider Benjamin Allbright projects Reynolds to start alongside Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims Jr. in three wide receiver sets, but his upside could be limited catching passing from veteran Jarrett Stidham or rookie Bo Nix. Reynolds has never eclipsed the 650-yard mark despite playing in great offenses in L.A. and Detroit, so he should be viewed as nothing more than a late-round flier in deeper fantasy football setups.
Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds could find himself in a substantial role in the Broncos' offense in his first year with the team after signing a two-year, $9 million deal in March. Reynolds comes from Detroit, where head coach Dan Campbell previously worked under current Broncos head coach Sean Payton in New Orleans. Payton is seeking more production all across the offense in 2024 and is embracing the idea that it could come from anywhere. "He's long; he has strong hands. Another veteran receiver," Payton said of Reynolds. Courtland Sutton is the unquestioned top wideout in Denver, but Reynolds will be competing for a starting role with the rehabbing Tim Patrick, Marvin Mims Jr. and rookie fourth-rounder Troy Franklin. With questions at QB, though, Reynolds will most likely go undrafted in standard 12-team fantasy leagues this fall.
Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds signed a two-year deal worth up to $14 million with the Denver Broncos on Wednesday, according to a source. The Broncos have been one of the most quiet teams in free agency this year, with Reynolds being their biggest addition by far. The 29-year-old will help replace Jerry Jeudy, who was traded to the Cleveland Browns. Reynolds caught 40 of his 64 targets last year in Detroit for 608 yards and five touchdowns in 17 regular-season games. Courtland Sutton will remain Denver's unquestioned No. 1 wideout, but Reynolds has a chance to be their No. 2 if he can beat out Tim Patrick (Achilles) and Marvin Mims Jr. in training camp. With either quarterback Jarrett Stidham or a rookie running the Broncos' offense in 2024, there won't be much fantasy upside for Reynolds in his new home.
Free-agent wide receiver Josh Reynolds is visiting with the Baltimore Ravens on Friday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 29-year-old had one of the best seasons of his career last year with the Detroit Lions, racking up 40 receptions for 608 yards and five touchdowns. Reynolds was originally a fourth-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams in 2017, and outside of five games with the Tennessee Titans in 2021, he has spent his entire career with quarterback Jared Goff. Overall, the Texas A&M product has 220 receptions for 2,933 yards and 19 touchdowns through his first 107 NFL games. The Ravens are looking to upgrade from what Odell Beckham Jr. and Rashod Bateman gave them at wideout last year, so Reynolds makes sense as a potential WR2 or WR3 for Lamar Jackson.
